What Sparkplug to use?

alright ive read these posts about using this plug and that plug but i don't know which ones to use. Either the NGK's BR8EQ14 or the BR9EQ14. i dont know the difference and different sites sell the 2 plugs for my car in the NGK brand so what one should i be using?

The plugs are sold at every Napa, Schucks, Kragen, Checker, Motion..... pretty much any auto parts store. Just go there and order the stock replacements. If they try to sell you an Autolite, tell them that they are the stupidest ****'s you've ever met and you won't do business with them again... not really, but tell them never to even offer an autolite for a rotary.

Think my point was made as far as not getting an autolite?

just goto a napa and ask them for plugs for your car, ask for NGKs and they'll get ya the right stuff. They are a bit pricey however. I got a set today, 4 NGK BR9EQ14s for $20.30 with my military discount, $27 without it (ouch!).

I dont know about that, ive read alot about this(and you could too, if u did a search) and the people who usually know what they are talking about, seem to feel very strongly about the NGK's, also, how are you to be sure the Bosch ones dont stick out and chip an apex seal...stick with a tried and true rotary designed NGK plug.

I wasnt really concerned with that, i was just concerned with things such as heat and clearance issues, bosch doesnt make rotary specific plugs, do they? And if you really want to, then go ahead and try them, let me know how they work, im not willing to take that risk, and judging by sk8r_dude's sig, neither is he

I thought that the rotor housings were shielded to where the electrode couldn't hit the apex seal.

Do 12a's not use the same type of plug as 13b's?

Someone once said the Bosch ones will loose their prongs into the engine.

Why are the NGK's for the 12a in Japan and in the States different. I didn't notice that until I had to change plugs and I saw the plugs with four prongs sticking out. The ones we purchased back in Japan was a smooth one like the race ones you can order from different sites but they weren't divided into sections at all. just a ring with the elecrode in the middle...

Could you give us some numbers? It sounds like BUR7EQ but without the + or x cut.

If you do alot of City driving you are going to want to use the BR8EQ14, if its highway driving your rex is mainly used for BR9EQ14 are recomended.

The trailing plug hole on the inside is way too small for a sparkplug to get through, but the leading plug hole is big enough for a plug to stick through.
