What size cam should I go with in the RX ?
No, really 
I actually had a guy tell me he owned an rx7 and it was sooo fast because he had bigger cams and a ported head. I was talking about the possibility of putting in a twin turbo SBC if the rotary ever goes. Thats when he pops in with his "recommendations"
If only murder wasn't against the law, or would this be a mercy killing on behalf of the car ? Lol

I love when people talk out their asses. My favorite is the NOS or NX stickers on the car. I can't count how many kids I've asked "What size shot you running?" Only to hear "Huh ?"

We could all put big cam-shaped alternator belt pulley's on our cars? That way we can tell them we run special External Cams. Tell them external cams are more reliable since they don't require as much effort to lube or cool... OH! OH! Air Cooled Cam! Oh! Oh! And they won't work on a HonDuh because They are too big and will interfere with the VTEC system and cause them to loose so much power that they couldn't beat a Yugo... HAHA!!

well, i got the icing for this cake.. there was this one guy around here that had a 2nd gen rx7.. i'm guessing he lost the apex seal on one of the rotors because he went around telling everyone he was only 'running on 2 pistons'.. i wanted to take his keys and put a dunce hat on him. them run him over with his own car.. he drives a chevy truck now.. better fitted for him too..

last year i was at the local honda/mazda dealership with my dad so he could get his car serviced (only because it was still under warranty) and one of the salesman comes up to me and starts talking about how he loves rx-7s and he used to own one... we start talking and i tell him about the starting trouble id been having. His suggestion was that i needed a new timing belt. i wanted to kick his *** for being so stupid and not knowing the first thing about what he was talking about

In our school autoshop, i was steaming my enigne and theteacher runs up and starts yelling at me about (Dont do that, you'll bend or break your valves you *$#)#ing **#@(#(er!). Laughing a bit to myself i say, "My valves.... huh?" and he goes, "You know what im talking about." Hmmm i still havnt quite figured out what hes talking about.

I would also like to know how you bend or break the valves on an engine by washing it
Sounds about like the old wives tale of bending valves running open headers.
I'm sure I'll have many more stories like this after I get the project on the road legally. Too many stupid people out there. My home town there is noone who knows what a rotary is. You cannot even order parts for them from most parts stores !

i once had an auto shop teacher tell me that my car was illegal because it was a two stroke, this is after i finally got him to stop saying i had a bad piston ring b/c it smokes on startup. I think I speak for all of us when I say that people need to open their minds to a new way of doing things(rotaries)
