![Question](https://www.rx7club.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
hey all, i wanted to know if it was a common problem for the rx7s. The throw out bearing is been making a little noise until the pedal is pressed. But now, the noise is little louder, plus sometimes i hear a grinding when i step on the clutch. Which grows louder as I start to disengage the clutch in first, and stops half way out.
That grinding noise appears even when the car is in neutral, with the clutch pressed. The grinding noise gets louder when i pull the shifter boot out.
I have an 85 GSLSE with 172k miles with no cats and stock(i think) engine.
thanks

Throwout bearing noise yes.
Grinding noise frm clutch engagement/disengagement NO.
I have had my share or clutch woes but ever had the noise as you descibe.
Best bet may be for you to take the sucker apart and inspect it, since you know the TO bearing is fading.
Just my $.02
