I'm starting to like these kind of posts. I have a pretty dang stock GSL-SE with stock ignition. I was think of replacing the coils as a matter of course. So what should I use for the Mound?

Now wasnt that informative....

Or I might just sell my car and get something else...

My vote goes with the MSD balster 2 coils. Here is why- I was fogging the 440 in my 'Cuda last winter so in order to keep the engine from fireing, I disconnected the coil to distributor wire. Thing had so much power there was some badass blue arcs going out the end to the terminals! Needless to say I disconnect the coil terminals for engine fogging now!

8krpm is not enough
I use a pair of MSD Blaster II coils and 1x stocker (17+ years old). Works like a CHARM.
Remember kids, loose connections may not make your stereo flake out, but will stall your car at 80MPH, so SOLDER EVERYTHING

Answer to burning MSD question!!
One thing was missing from this thread that came up somewhere else and it was an excellent idea from peejay. Run the MSD RPM Window box (PN 12-8950 in the Jeg's catalog) to shut down the trailing coils before the leading plugs start getting cut by the MSD 6AL box...

He calls them "Ecell" and "Excell" coils, but clearly the yellow beasts are none other than Accel Super Stock coils quite happy in their unmolested home...

I need coils and was looking at the blasters. (stock's are $240!!!!) Msd's i see for $39 from summit racing. Do they get cheaper or is that a good buy? Also I am looking to get an Igntion control box. How hard would it be to put one in? I am guessing u just take out the old "control box" (silver tin with the 2 ignitors inside on a circuit board) and wire a diff control box in?

Start another thread on this question because there's a lot of different ways to go and the members here will definitely let you know what they think is the "best" way to go...
