What kind of intake is this?

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/72/046mr.jpg/

The has been sitting almost 2 years, but before I parked it, it was leaking coolant from the intake gasket area. I am guessing O-rings, but I don't know if this type of intake even uses them.

So I'm wondering will a factory OEM gasket and O-Rings from mazda be ok, or do I need something special, also does this type of intake use O-rings. I'm just considering rebuilding this carb for good measure since its sat dry for so long and fixing the leak while I'm at it.

Ok, I've heard of those before. Where do I get them?

Does anyone know what kind of intake I've got here (just wondering)

That's an odd manifold... obviously its made by kyokuto. Are there any other markings on the manifold?
From my little research, it looks to be made by far east trading (F.E.T.) They were a tuning company in the 60's and onwards. They made a lot of parts for Datsuns. Sometimes the castings would have original Japanese kanji on them, sometimes the words kyokuto cast in or just FET on it. Here is the link where I found some of this info:

fwiw they seem pretty rare. Enjoy!

You can get a box of the freeze plugs at the auto parts places. Usually sold in a
box of 20 or so for a couple of bucks. I got mine from rockauto with one of my orders.

Most O'reilys sell them individually. They are 20mm freeze plugs.

I don't know the brand of the intake, and it's really not important who made it. The coolant passages don't exist in the intake. I bet the rubber o-rings are just shot. Get a couple of those dorman "freeze" plugs and install them in the housings, but also use the o-rings as a backup just in case a little coolant manages to seep past the plugs.
One added bonus of installing the plugs, you can remove the intake without draining or spilling any coolant.

One more tip. Most dorman freeze plugs can be bought in brass, not sure about these. The part number should be 556-101 for brass, if they offer them this size. Of course, I bet they would be a bit higher than the $0.50 each I paid for the last batch of steel plugs......

Use Permatex #2 sealant like you would on any other Coolant Freeze Plug and you wont have a problem.
