What Issss My Car????

if it also has 4 wheel disc brake then its a GSL that comes with limited slip differential ... if it had rear drums then its a GS .. it wouldn't be an S because of the sunroof .

Those two nailed it right on. As a side note, those ground effects you speak of are aftermarket and the spoiler is likely aftermarket as well. The S never came with a sunroof, so thats out for sure. The GS was available with the sunroof, but had rear drum brakes and an open diff as stated above. The GSL had rear disk brakes and a limited slip diff.

*laughs* nobody removed your emblems. Mazda in all their genius just didn't emblem the pre-'84 cars. The drums/discs is the best giveaway.
well I guess I should be a little more accurate... they didn't put GS, GSL emblems above the taillights like the '84, '85 ones... I have seen some emblems for GSL cars on the B-pillar, but they weren't on all GSLs. I just don't know which ones had it, but I know I've seen a LOT of pre-84 cars without emblems!

The S3s did have a GS badge, only the S model lacked any kind of badging in the States. Also keep in mind that some dealers and previous owner's had aftermarket sunroofs installed. This is the case with my widebody, which was a GS but has a sunroof.
If it's an S model, it will have manual mirrors and the fuel door and/or hatch release may be manual instead of electric.

Thanks for the info
It has drums in rear and an electric fuel door......I have pics, but, i don't know how to reduce them to fit on this site......I need an alternator and someone said a second gen. would bolt right up and have 70 amps instead of 55...any thoughts?
I'm new to this site so I don't know how to navigate to everything as far as faqs and such. Hell I've only been a proud owner for a month....I do though appreciate the input and ,if I post stupid stuff, just write it off as my blissful ignorance.lol

My S has an electric fuel door but manual everything else. You can reduce the pics by simply right clicking on the pic and going to edit, then stretch/skew until you get them where you want them

Comfort is one thing, but you just never know how many beer farts are lurking in some used seats. Know what I mean? Do you buy underwear at the yard sales?
In the past, I have either recover MY old seats or got new ones.
