It says "thank you" and runs.

10w30 is ALL I run in my 12a, as per the manual which came with the car.

With the heat in your local, you can run 20W50. If you run it hard, I would go with the heavier weight.

10W-30 is fine in cooler climates. With hard driving, or an 83-85 12A still using the beehive, I would advise a little heavier oil. I use 20W-50 in mine year-round. Of course, I don't drive my car when the temps are near or below freezing.

I run 10w30. I also don't run my car in winter (I will have to this winter though, as I sold my Jeep.)

Ah,come on.....its not so bad.......when the sun is down!
I know what you mean.I helped my buddy move back from Surprise, AZ last December and it was friggen 90 degrees out! I wouldnt run anything but 20W50 down there.....I believe its a crime to sell a car in AZ, that doesnt have AC!?

Here in mild Northern CA,I run 10W-30 with no problems, even in my hotter running turbo engine.

Hehe, I had to do a pilot bearing, throw out bearing, clutch fix on the Rex when it was in early August and like 110 - 115 out... even in a garage we had to run inside every hour to cool off. I believe this might be the only state you can buy a beaten up, broken down RX-7, not running, intake & FI seals bad, tranny issues, hasn't run in months etc... but the freakin AC was still charged and worked
