what happens when you put 10w 30 oil in a 12A

10W-30 is fine in cooler climates. With hard driving, or an 83-85 12A still using the beehive, I would advise a little heavier oil. I use 20W-50 in mine year-round. Of course, I don't drive my car when the temps are near or below freezing.

I know what you mean.I helped my buddy move back from Surprise, AZ last December and it was friggen 90 degrees out! I wouldnt run anything but 20W50 down there.....I believe its a crime to sell a car in AZ, that doesnt have AC!?
Here in mild Northern CA,I run 10W-30 with no problems, even in my hotter running turbo engine.
