I'm game for any rock ... Doors, Led Zeplin, Pink Floyd, 80's grunge punk what have you... ie motley crew skid row just to name a few. I have been listening to classic rock lately, and i'm a southren boy so sothren classic rock is great... in cluding but not limited to hank, zz top, lynard skynard. as far as some of the newer stuff from 90's and today... Green Day, POD, Sublime, Rage Againts Machine, disturbed, Manson. and almost any "angry music" loud heavy in guitar. fast, something that will get me in the grove of downshifting and buzzing though traffic.

Pink Floyd strikes me as a wee cerebral for speeding. And has been said, Nirvana is always a good decision. Disturbed has got that rolling speed rock thing that works well with a rotary.
Personally though, I'm handicapped. I don't even have a dashboard, much less a stereo to go in it. It's been totally stripped inside as part of my restoration (the old interior was a nightmare). The one time I tried putting my boombox in the car, the engine sound was so loud I couldn't hear a thing! that's okay, I love the sound of that rotary.

Honestly, I think the best song I have found for highway driving is Flight of the Valkarie. Makes me feel like I am on a mission from God when I am driving to that song.
Otherwise, it is normaly NIN or something like that.

hmm... of course there's that assortment of rock, i particularly like "blow me away" by breaking benjamin, makes you feel like you're actually out to do something besides get arrested.
recently i've really been getting into some good old school hip hop, which is strange because most people know me to hate rap. But there is some great stuff out there.
check out A Tribe Called Quest and De la Soul, Talib Kweli isn't bad either.

I'm always partial to industrial music myself. Some Skinny Puppy, Pig, Die Krupps, ohGr, but just as drittens said earlier that their musical interest varies, mine does as well. You can also find me cruising around to anything between Frank Sinatra to Legendary Pink Dots to Elysian Fields to Paul Oakenfold to Rasputina. As far as the bands you mentioned first I would have to say Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd all the way. Music is my second passion, right behind the RX-7's.

Old School Van Halen!!! But I listen to everything. Gotta pump the volume when I'm in the 7. The regular driver (Explorer Sport Trac) only has 10"!
But the iPod does hold 3000 songs, so tuff to call.
Edit, just had to put in "You realy got me" "Sweet Emotion"
You could always put in "Big Pimpin" "Roll Out"
I also like the remix of Evis's "A little less conversation"

Blur's "Song 2" is a good driving song. Probably because it reminds me of the BMW film, with all that fast driving.
Though usually for me it's either some trance (DJ Tiesto, G&D, PVD, etc) or metal (Cradle Of Fitlh or something similar.) Most recent outing was some Hendrix and The Doors, though.

Shania Twain, Cher, Bett Midler. Maybe a little bit of Loretta Lynn and some George Jones.
not really. but if thats what you like, go for it. Anything you want to listen to is what goes best with your car.

For spirited driving with a nice soundtrack, I recommend the following mix of songs:
YYZ - Rush
Seventh Seal - Van Halen
Young Lust - Pink Floyd
No More Tears - Ozzie
Flying in a Blue Dream - Satriani
Empire, Jet City Woman - Queensreich
Rock You Like a Hurricane - Scorpions
etc.
Long road trips and an RX-7 require good loud music.
