What do you think my 7's worth?

Guys,
I'm looking to sell my GSL in the next two or three months - details in the sig. I might keep the Dellorto to sell separately or use on the RX-2, so I'd sell the car with a Holley 650. Given the state of the car, what do y'all think I should ask for it?

BTW, it has low compression on the front rotor - likely a cracked apex. Everything else on the car is in great shape.

I know I'd give you around a thousand for it if everything else was in great shape. (That's AT LEAST a thousand)

hm... id definately pay more than 1k since it has a 4 port 13b. but being that it has low compression, it would probably be good to rebuild that bad boy before it throws an apex seal and damages the inside of the motor.

sounds like a nice car. sucks its got low compression. if it didnt i definately wouldnt take under 2k for it if i were you. who knows what that motor will do to the price though.

Yeah, thing is that I don't want to rebuild it just to sell. I doubt I'd get enough more money to cover rebuild costs and time. It just needs someone looking for a project or who might want to port it anyway.

You should feel sorry for me cause I'm about to have one haulled off. That means I'm gonna have an empty spot, and that just kills me. $100.00?

OK, time for Ray to reveal his ignorance (again). Crit, I can't find the details about your car, which you say is in the "sig". What's a sig? Please, tell me what to click on.

Thanks
Ray

You gotta be kidding me. After 467 posts you still don't know what a sig is???

Anyway, given the state of the engine, and kind of engine with all those mods, I would say $1500 (canadian). I almost had a Widebody in perfect condition with all basic bolt ons on the engine (Weber 48IDA, RB exhaust, centerforce clutch, rats nest removed, you get the idea) for $2000. Only thing it didn't have was a streetport on a 12a. The only thing that held me back was the fact I would have to drive 8 hours to get it (parents not willing to make the trip with me) and I didn't have enough money (parents probably would have lent it to me, but they wouldn't take me to get it).

Well, as it happens, an engine just fell in my lap from my school's engine dyno room. I don't even know if it's a 12A or 13B, but if it's in good shape, I might drop it in the 7 and work the 4-port out. We'll see. If I do have to sell it, though, I'd still like an idea of where to put my reserve. I hate to see her go, but I can't keep 2 projects around. The 7 has to be either fixed without too much trouble or sold.

Thanks Crit, I've grown a little less ignorant today. I was looking for something I could click on with pictures. Got any of those?

As far as Crit's car goes, I've seen it and it is a real sweet machine. This is the black one with the SE wheels, right? Nice clean interior, shiny black paint, real nice all around.

There's a couple of pics on my web page, including the rather impressive engine compartment. You can see pictures of Crit and other Atlanta rotor heads there too.

Hey guys. I'm headed out of town today, so I figured I'd ATF the car and see if I can free up a seal. I removed the upper Dellorto manifold and ran a half a bottle through her over the course of about 10 revs. Is there anything else I can do in the meantime since she'll be sitting for 5 days?
