I carried a 17' canoe, 48 quart cooler,a partually inflated 3 man raft, 2 sets of oars and 4 people... all over 5'10" tall. It was a very uncomfortable 3 hour drive... but an experience that will last a lifetime.

Ive hauled an appliance dolly,a knockdown engine hoist,a rug doctor carpet cleaner,a couple rearends and a few engines.....not all at the same time mind you.I run an equipment rental yard,so sometimes I have to deliver/tranfer stuff in whatever vehicle is availible to me,though not as much now that shes all "purdy".

If you wanna talk serious loads,Ive towed a lot of stuff before the hitch was removed in preperation for the final paint and body job.
I hauled a Ram D50 pickup on a tow dolly about 25 miles.(nearly 4000lbs total)
I used to deliver 1000lb walkbehind trenchers and tillers on a regular basis.
I hauled a 5X8 Uhaul box trailer 800 miles round trip to Mariah Motorsports to pickup my widebody fenders and tail.....that was hilaroius!
Imagine embarassing wanna-be Hondas and Integras on the freeway....with a trailer in tow!!!Damn things tow pretty smooth up to 115MPH.

I dont know about bulk, but once on a cruise with a couple of rx3's and the like, my friends R100 had its door ripped off in a minor accident. The only car that it could fit in was the good old family wagon RX7.

so far me my friend with two girls in his lap...(dont ask me how it looked cuz he is 6'2) and a girl in the middle ontop of the center console......then while driving down the road one day some kids asked me to give them a pull....so they tie their rope to the tow hook and i go while they ride on a 5x3 frame peice of wood skined with partical board with office chair wheels on it...and i got up to 40mph (they told me to) and then the wheels broke and they went fallling off pretty bad.....

On one trip, I had a brand new Ibanez electric/acoustic guitar in the case, a travel case for said guitar, grocery back full of books/dvds/strings, and 6 grocery bags from Wal-Mart.

On another trip, I fit 13 bags of mulch at ~20 pounds a piece in the hatch. I could have fit much more, too, but I wanted to be able to close the hatch/use my rear-view.

last time i moved i hauled a full size laz-y-boy recliner in the hatch, barely fit...probably 70% was sticking out, then the second trip was a loveseat, then my dresser, and finally my computer(which is not stock...more of a widebody actually ) and all my clothes/bedding.

oh yeah, i hauled a comlete neon motor (sohc 2.0 with manifolds) from seattle to portland.

man i love my rx-7

I went to a 6hr endurance race in Daytona and picked up 6 Hoosier R3S04
race tires for free. I managed to get them all in my car with the hatch closed and drive those bastards up to Jax.

One night I carried 3 dudes in the back, 2 girls in the front. Total of 6 ppl including me. But the hatch was open. It wasnt a very good idea to leave the hatch open, the rotary fumes almost killed us, no cats . I fill my RX7 with packages every week to go to FEDEX which include sets of wheels, guitars, saxophones, etc.etc.

On my last week of school, I hauled a crapload of stuff home in my FB.

My computer, a full load of laundry, my other clothes, backpack, a bunch of textbooks, a box full of misc. in my room, parts from a fully disassembled 13B engine (for my rebuild), brought a few tools home (the jack, wrenches, etc.) plus what I already had in the car. (quart of oil, spark plugs, coolant, gloves, towels, etc.) It was damn heavy with all the stuff but the FB still did it.
