Thanks guys...one last question though.

My speedo cable broke near the tranny side. I'm going to get a new one, but I need to know if when the speedo cable breaks does it make the odometer and trip meter stop working? Mine just stopped all of a sudden. Also, are all first gen speedo cables the same?

 

Speedo, odo, and trip are all driven by that cable, yep.

I don't know how interchageable they are, year-to-year.

 

A cable is a cable.
