Went to take a look today at my future RX

So I've been looking for a project for a long time, 4+ years. I finally find one last week, offered to me on a local forum for $150, just doesn't run and is stripped and has been sitting. I go and take a look at it today, it is very clean on the inside and very little rust, only three spots (below the corners of the doors, both sides, and driver's rear wheelwell) and there's parts strewn through the car, air cleaner, radiator, etc. The interior is pristine, the storage bin lids are perfectly attached and the car on the inside looks as if it's been sat in once. We talk with the owner, open the hood to see it stripped, the engine sitting there, carb off, everything gone. he said he disconnected the tranny so it and the driveshaft is sitting there, connected. He also started hacking off the exhaust with a saw .
But, of all the times my dad said no to a car...he said yes! I was pretty sure I was going to buy it, now it's just confirmed! I'm so excited!! Now all I need to do is reassemble the dash, and get an engine. I pick it up next weekend. Yeeeah!!! sorry if that was long, needed to vent my excitement!

Congratulations!! With a pristine interior and minor rust, I'd say you're getting a damn good deal. What year and model? Post some pics of your progress.

Other than the rocker panel rust it looks pretty good, and like they said at $150 you can't complain. The interior itself is worth more than that. Good luck, the first gen section here is very helpful, you should have a good time with it.

Looks pretty good so far. Check everywhere for rust. Mainly the wheel wells and behind the storage bins tho. Hope everything works out. God bless
