A VIN is a standardised 17 digit number that encodes information about the vehicle including build date etc.
There is no "VIN" for any JDM 1st gen rx7 (or for Australia, NZ or South Africa for that matter)
There are chassis numbers only. these are simply sequential build/serial numbers equivalent to the last 6 digits of a VIN.
JDM uses the follow chassis number ranges
Series 1 (1978-80) SA22C-100001 on
Series 2 (1980-83) SA22C-200001 on
Series 3 (1983-85) SA22C-300001 on
Export markets that didn't adopt VINs::
Series 1 (1978-80) SA22C-500001 on
Series 2 (1980-83) SA22C-650001 on
Series 3 (1983-85) SA22C-700001 on
These numbers were allocated sequentially from the production line for global markets so 1 car might have been for Australia, the next NZ etc
