weird problem bleeding brakes
Hi guys, im getting ready for my first season of time attack and i decided to go through i thoroughly upgrade my brake system. I got new rorots all around, new pads, and new SS lines.
I just finished getting the lines on yesterday. My pops came over today to help me bleed the system. I started at the passanger side rear, bleed until iwas certrain the bubbles were out from replacing he line between the live axle and chassis. then i did the drivers side rear, no problems. I went the passanger side front, aaaand.. nothing. its barely moving the fluid. wtf? i did the drivers side front. same thing. If it sits there for a bit. i might get ONE good pedal out of it, then the subsequent dont move fluid, the fluid acually starts to get pulled BACK towards the master cylinder.
Whats going on? i tried the old school, push on pedal, open bleeder, let bubbles out, rinse repeat method and it did this, i got a vacuum style today too to try and pull the bubbles out, nothing.
At one point the resevoir did run out without us noticing. Could this be the problem? we tried to bleed the master cylidner as best we could. Nothing seems to make a difference.
Any help would be appreciated.

Take off one the the new hoses at the front caliper and make sure you can press the peddle and fluid comes out. if it does, make sure the caliper pistons are not frozen.
If this test OK, take one of the front hard lines off at the proportioning valve and make sure you have fluid at that point. This will tell you which direction to continue troubleshooting.

I had the same problem after I rebuild my 4 calipers.......just keep bleeding the system....it will clear out and flow normally. I was using a pump system to bleed then i had to go to pressing the brake pedal....it took a while but it worked....
Also.....the piston in the front calipers don't twist........

It could be the proportioning valve but it usually causes the rears not to bleed all the way. Stomp on the brake pedal quickly and hard a couple of times once you think you have fluid in there. It can bounce the valve back into place sometimes.
