Weight reduction, The, " What can be removed" game
alright. so ive been looking around my engine bay at all the stuff thats adding weight. i plan on getting a electric fan, ditching a/c and removing all emissions **** from my engine 
anything else i should add to my list? and if so how do i go about removing it and what parts do i need to do so.
also if you live in NC your more than welcomed to come help

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT remove the oil pump. What he means is to remove the oil metering pump and run premix. Also an SA intake would work well since it doesn't have any of the extra crap on it. If you get a header, it will save weight and add some extra power.

i went ahead and cut out the skeleton of my hood. i also let the cruise control go too.
my own opinion on the efan is dont do it. atleast for me it didnt help. im usuing a taurus efan with the low setting. when it turns on it draws too many amps even w/ my s5 alt. just my .02

replace that cast iron stock exhaust manifold with a racing beat manifold, dump the cat converter and air pump too, and the cast iron exhaust pipe between the cat and manifold

Respecognize!
i think what is funny is that the stock fan and clutch assembly usually weights less than most peoples electric fans they put in. Plus the stock fan with shroud cools very well.

stock fan is horribly loud in the windy area, it also seems to suck a lot energy in the low rpms. The electric fans do not utilize the shroud and leave out the oil coolers center area unless sorta split between. I have gone to a smaller diameter electric fan (close to the stock fans diameter) and modified the stock shroud to encompass the fan, so far no problems and at the moment its effective enough. Waiting for the 100degree heatsoaked days to be sure.

but for starters subzero is being taken out now, just in here checking out the forums. Will my car run the same if i just take the belts off the AC and airpump and put on the lawnmower belt like in the tut for removing the rats nest? Ill be pulling the pumps and such off but not until i get all the hoses and such, but i wouldn't mind getting the belt on already if it wont hurt

Im in Salisbury, like 30min from Charlotte. Id rather not remove all the **** from under the dash because if i wanna put AC back on sometime ill not have to crawl up under there. being 6 foot 3 its not a easy task

the lawnmower belt is the same thing as the pinapple racing yoohoo belt. just a shorter belt to run from the e-pulley to the waterpump. I think they are under $15 around here number 3L220. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/items/3L220

Removal of all the emissions bs removes a lot of the weight. Adding a header pulls even more out. Lots of cast iron in the stock exhaust.
Only other thing I can add is that you can use a 2nd gen water pump housing to replace the cast iron one. I also got an aluminum water pump to go with it. That stock bitch was HEAVY!!!
