FL Water getting into passenger compartment!

So what seemed like a monsoon blew through Miami yesterday afternoon and when I got in my Rex the carpet was soaked. I noticed rainwater dripping in from under the dashboard on both passenger and drivers side. Where on the outside of the car (up front near the windshield obviously) should I start to look for the cause of this leak?

bottom of windshield could be leaking. also check the ends under the cowl at the fenders. if water doesn't drain, it could leak in from the vents. or even worse, that area could be rusted out like an rx4 i bought a several yrs back just going by pix thru email. problem was found only after buying the car.

my car did the same thing

so I removed the wind shield molding, duct taped the bottom right of the windshield, and slightly below the pillar.

Before there was a large puddle, now it is dry!!

Be sure to remove the cowl cover and check the area under it for rust holes. Hopefully you won't find anything like this.

Thanks for the replies guys... I really hope I don't find anything THAT extreme in my car. Now I have to find out how to remove the cowl so I can check it.

i was going to also add that if your 7 has a/c, you may want to make sure the drain hose is properly in place and that the water isn't coming in from that area as well. just another idea to add onto what 74RX4 had mentioned
