Volume of RB exhaust system

So I'm wondering how loud my car would be if I added Racing Beat's performance exhaust system to my car. The car's exhaust is not entirely stock, I wanted a quick fix for better power so I put a Bonez race pipe in to replace the cats. If I added the header/presilencer and the powerpulse muffler, how loud would this be? I don't want it to sound obnoxiously loud.

I have header to straight pipe (no cat, no presilencer) to the RB muffler. Mine sounds good, not loud at all - as a matter of fact, most people that see what I've got are surprised at how quiet it is.

As a matter of fact, I've got an RB presilencer for a 12A manual, if you're shopping for one. It's brand new, never used.

Excellent. Exactly what I wanted to hear. This exhaust upgrade will happen sometime early '04 ($$ reasons).

Lisa, what does the presilencer bolt on to? Do I need the header to connect it? I don't have the cash to buy anything extra for my car until the new year, but if I could save a couple bucks by buying the presilencer from you and the rest of the kit from RB I might just do that.

Anyone with extensive knowledge of 12a's able to tell me what kind of HP I should be pushing with the following setup-
1. underdrive pulley from rotary performance
2. bonez straight race pipe from RP
3. 45 DCOE Holly Carb system (intake manifold, air cleaner system etc) from Rotary Shack

This should total around 145hp-160 is my guess...
Then after finishing off the exhaust system with RB's perf. kit another 20hp....

Then sometime next year fabricate a turbo manifold and throw a T3 or T4 turbo on it
(should be upwards of 250hp by then I'd guess)

i would say around 150 after you get you rb setup and the holley carb system.. You are going to have issues getting much higher without porting the engine a lil bit.

The presilencer bolts from the header to the stock pipe.

If you'll go here, you'll see what I mean:

http://www.racingbeat.com/FRmazda1.htm

I can save you about $50 on the presilencer (it's $150 from RB, I'll sell for $100 plus shipping).

There really is nothing like the sound of the RB system. It has this deep bass tone that is so surprising coming from a rotary. The first time that I rode in Manntis's car, I just sat in the passenger seat and listened. It was so subtle when cruising and aggressive when leaned on. For a street car, there's nothing better.

IMO theres no such thing as deep bass tone on our cars, even with a full RB system, it sounds that way INSIDE the car, and outside at idle, but it doesnt really matter what kind of exhaust you have, outside of the car it just doesnt sound the same...

(Have someone drive your car while you stand outside and you will see what I mean..)

Don't get me wrong though, I love the sound it makes..its just not deep :P
