Visited KDR performance today!
Had a chance to stop by and pay a visit to KDR Performance today. I must say I was extremely impressed by there set up and by the amount of Rx7's in that place! WOW its like the east coast Rx7 mecca! 1st gen's, 2nd gens, 3rd gens and other rotory powered machines all in one place! Anyway the owners name (I cant remember it) is extremely friendly and spoke about his customers cars and basically answered any questions I had about my car and diffrent portings, carbs, etc:. If ever in the area you absolutely must visit this facility! If your a true rotorhead.....you wont be sorry!

i almost got a motor swap done by them. i had cancer, and the make a wish foundation was going to fund a T2 swap into my '79. but after a couple months, they had decided that they had to stick with the original rules saying that they can not touch the car mechanically. so they paid to have it restored instead. but when i talked to them they definitely seemed to know what they were doing. i have heard from other tune shops that they are the most expensive place around, but well worth the money because of the quality of their work.

i would have asked for some big *** tittys in my face.. but thats just me.. and if youre not dying soon then why are they wasting money on you when so many other kids are dying in like less than a month... thats kinda shitty on their part.. some 8 year old has to be put on hold for his trip to disney world so that you can have a faster car to DRIVE.... sounds kinda shady to me.. terminally ill people that need wishes granted shouldnt be driving cars.. they should be the kids that are bed ridden and are in pain .. plus i thought make a wish foundation only did kids.. not adults.

i just turned 17 in august. i was 16 in march when they were first introduced to me. and it doesnt work like that at all. some other kids wish wasnt put on hold. they get to as many people as possible. also, make a wish is for people with life-threatening diseases. having a type of cancer that one out of four kids dies from is kind of serious.

i really dont think it is serious enough for a corperation to restore your car.. thats pretty lame.. so if you think about it.. if they get to as many people as possible then while they were wasting their time on you someone who doesnt really need or deserve anything , thousands of kids who really have life threatening diseases died.
and in my opinion being 16 is too old for make a wish foundation. if i were in your shoes i would have thanked them for their consideration and then i would have asked for them to help people less fortunate than myself as my wish. but then again i have morals and a concience..
what it really sounds like to me is that you took advantage of your illness by a company that listens too well.. so now what if you are one of the 75% of children who live from this cancer.. should you pay them back?

Jeeze, why all the hate big guy? The kid just came through a life threatening desease, and turned out to be one of the lucky ones that survived. He should only get a wish if he dies? I think that there are much bigger wastes of money to be concerned with. At least his wish didn't go to some welfare wife beater with a bad cold... Just my 2 cents.

well true but i am just saying it sounds like a bunch of BS to me.. and i am also saying that if stuff like that goes on i will never donate money to them again. besides if i really had the time to go into it.. i dont believe in disease...to me its all mind games.. but that has to do with spirituality and a whole can of beans you dont want to open.
But seriously if you had a kid.. lets say 6 years old and you were in the hospital every day .. and you read about some 16 year old kid getting a wish from the make a wish foundation and they restored his car so he can drive around and be happy.. wouldnt that make you a bit upset.. seing as how they could have helped your kid.. and made your kid feel like he wasnt dying for one day in his short life..?

look i am not going to get into this with you..... im sorry you r dad has cancer... im sorry you resort to crappy *** treatment that the united states will only allow you to have.... there are other ways... and there are other realms of thought on the subject.. if you believe you are going to die then you will... nothing is stronger medicine than your own willpower

I agree with your statement of willpower.
But when I was in the hospital over the fourth of july for my apendix I was thinking to myself. My wish would be to go race on wangan with Amemiya. That's just me.
Seriously, to each their own.
Back on subject. Where abouts are they located? I'll check them out someday since its just next door.

Well, sorry man. I don't want to get you stirred up over your personal views. I haven't heard of any six year old kids who got shorted because they're spending money on this kid's car though. If that were the case then, yeah, give it to the kid who's dying instead. Anyway, I've got no cause to doubt RX tuner and just thought you were being a little harsh with him. Just wondered why. Peace...

i never said the doctors knew i wasnt going to die. they had no idea until after the first few rounds of chemo. i said i knew i wasnt going to die because i had the right attitude about it. i joked around about it a lot and always acted like i was in a good mood because i didnt want people feeling bad for me. also, i realized that there are too many people in this world that would be really upset if i died, and i didnt want to hurt anyone like that. and here's a story if you dont believe that's true: i found the lumps on my neck in the beginning of december and told my parents that i didnt want to get them checked out until after christmas because if it turned out to be bad, i didnt want to ruin everyone's holiday.
its not evil_motor's fault, but you probably got the wrong impression when i said that i knew i wasnt going to die. i had the same chance of dying as every other kid with hodgkins disease. but i think that your chances of suriving depend on your attitude about it and the way you handle things.
make-a-wish is for kids who are under 18. and no one else got screwed out of their wish because of my car. they have a **** load of people working over there, and millions of dollars to spend on kids, not to mention all the things that are donated to them like vacations. my car that cost a couple thousand dollars didn't hurt them any more than some other kid's $15,000 vacation to hawaii for his family of seven.
