mantis I am now reconsidering making my own because yours is now very close to what i was planing. but damn this is taking a long time. things I want to know are what size would the openings be? the front edge of the opening is that rasied at all? and where does the front and back of the vent line up in the enging bay? I am going to do a second gen style lean forward cooling system. but will be useing the stock style till I get that worked out so?

??
Manntis:
Question: have you test fit this piece on a car with a strut-bar. Looking at the pics and the depth of the vents, it doesn't look like a strut-bar would fit. Sorry if this has been addressed already.
Thank you,

Btw, you coming to SevenStock?

The vents only dip 1/2" below the stock thickness of the hood inner bracing at their deepest point The whole idea was to have dramatic yet tasteful vents. They're 2.5" deep, then quickly come up through the stock height so most strut tower bars shouldn't be a problem. If it'll fit under your stock hood, it should fit under this one.

I definately would be up for buying one of these hoods. are you only going to make 1 style of hood, or are you going to make different variations of vent placements, such as an added single turbo duct?thx

Looks Good.... Any idea on price and/or weight? So the vent will be comming down between the rad and infront of the alternator/distrubutor...meaning if it rains, it isnt a problem?

Ok, I'm ready to bite. I'll take on of these, and the Marriah Mode 4 front air dam; and with new side moldings, the project will almost be complete upon receiving new red paint!
Will you be supplying them with the vents prepared to some extent? Is some sort of additional insert required? Or will the buyer need to perform the ventilation fab? My only concern is not being able to take full advantage of the design due to my own lack of bodywork exp / knowledge.
It appears that rain wouldn't have a negative affect anymore so than my current swiss-cheesey stock hood; moreover, it appears that while the vehicle is at rest, the water would run-off just in front of the alternator; near the fan. I do have an electric Black Magic fan, though, that may require abit of shielding. It's difficult to know, yet.

Manntis, I'm interested in the rain question as well(6th post above). Also, would you be offering(for additional charge of course) to cut out the vents and put the mesh/slits on them? I'm definately wanting this hood bro, my is getting a "rust bubble" on it. Did you ever hear back on those mufflers you would be a dealer for? I'm still wanting to test one for ya'.

Rain: The vents open between the rad and the engine - the alternator, engine, wiring, etc. is covered by the hood and curved vent channels.
That said, many other vented hoods have the engine etc. exposed to rain - as long as the intake is covered everything works.
I'd look at cutting and meshing the vents for a reasonable surcharge - the reason they aren't offered like this typically is everyone has a different idea of what mesh/slats/open holes to have there.
