Useful Info coil wires

I recently had to rerun the 2 wires going from my trailing coil to my trailing ignitor. Found where wich wire went and ran them. I removed the black wire with the yellow line on it from the positive terminal and replaced it. Come to find out somethign else runs off that wire so you need to keep it hooked up. If it isnt hooked up the car doesnt run so if anyone ever has trouble with that here it is.

Yeah, the tachometer also runs off the trailing ignitor, and I believe on the fuel injected ones, if theres no signal from there, the ECU wont let the engine run. I could be wrong about that though, I know there something goofy like that somewhere...

Fuel pump runs off of it on the 83+ models.

right, i left the fuel pump wire on. The black wire with yellow stripe that is on the positive terminal i believe is what was causing it to quit. I figure it has to have something to do with the ecu. Becuas eit doesnt sputter and die, it just shuts off.
