Upper exhaust manifold bolts

This weekend, I decided to take off my header and go back to the stock manifold (because it puts me back in the stock category in auto-X)

as I was putting the manifold back on I realised that it was near impossible to get the upper bolts tightened (on the GSL SE models). Anyways i dont even remeber how I got them loose in the first place. Finally I got my girlfirend to use her tiny hands to get the bolts on...

HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED To tighten them now?????

Point beening that the two upper bolts need tightening, any tips?
keep in mind that this is a GSL SE and the lower intake manifold is taking ALL the space

I'm not familiar w/the GSL-SE (sadly ) so this is just something I'm throwing out there...

Is it possible that the installation has to be done in reverse (i.e. put the upper manifold on and torque it down while the lower manifold is off, then put on the lower manifold)?

i know how you feeling.

ok, you need six inch or more extension, now doesn't matter whether it is 1x6", 2x3", etc

and it is alot easier if you take the ACV (air control valve) off. it's only three 10mm bolts,

don't forget to get a 6-pack of beer and be ready to swear and have something close to you that you can kick when you get frustrated,

I was under the impression that the extensions did not fit, but I guess that's just because of all the previous frustrations...

I guess the lack of beer is to blame!

To get a firm grasp with the socket on the manifold bolt you have to remove the six port actuators valves. It can be done without doing that but like I said for the socket to fit perfectly over the bolt on the manifold they should be removed. Also remeber gaskets for the little valves if you take them off or they will leak.-rtyPWR

Are you interested in selling the header?

Get it from underneath, and swear repeatedly. Works for me.

If it would be the case, i got a friend that already wants to swipe it.

The way i figure it, is that if I were to sell it, i would definatly not get what its worth, meaning that in the future if i would want to put it back on i would have to go though all the trouble of ordering one and spending the extra $$$.

so I figured that i was best to keep it all to myself. Its probably going back on at the end of next summer.

So thats why im not ready to part with it, thanks for asking though
