here is an update on my progress of my week of working on the seven.. i fixed my clutch (problem was a dead slave cylinder) installed a new air filter, distributor cap and rotor, and msd blaster 2 coils.. the car seemed to be running great, so i hooked up a friends g-tech and gave it a go. i ran a 14.6 at 101 mph in the quarter mile.

but here is my current problem. after a night of racing my car suddenly died. the engine tries to turn over, but willnot start. my guess is no spark.. any ideas what may have caused this? later today i am going to install some new spark plugs and spark plug wires to see if that helps anything.

i know that my information is a little vauge , but that is really all that i have right now.

do you still have compression? fuel? pull the plugs to check em.

I think you should search the forum about your problem, there's so many posts about no-start problems.

the last race that i ran , before it died, was against a 95 mustang gt, and throughout the race i knoticed no sign of losing compressions.. so i would imagine that i still do.
i have plenty of fuel, infact my first thought was that i flooded the carb, but that is not the case.. i will pull the plugs a little later today when i get my new ones..

silver rocket: i have a 4port 13b from a 78 rx4 with a mild street port, stock nikki 4-brl from the rx4, full duel rb exhaust.. that is about it

Did the rx-4 have a nikki? My buddies wagon has some other carb, I think its a Hitachi?

Does it start to "catch" but won't stay running or does it simply spin like there's no spark at all? If it's just spinning, replace the "engine" fuse that's found in the interior for the hell of it and see if that helps....

forgot to add.. i am also running on the stock bicycle tires, running somewhat rich, and burnt out completely through first gear, and chirped the tires in second third and forth gear... with all of that and still running a 14.6 i say no to shabby.

yayarx7, it is a four barrol carb, and as far as i can tell it is a niki. looks the same as the 12a carbs, only the larger and the fuel lines are on the opposite side.

mar3: it just spins like there is no spark at all.. i have a bit of a wiring problem with my car (79 engine bay harness with an 80 engine wiring harnes) so the fues does nothing. i have been runing with a blown fuse for since i put the thing together. if i replace it, it will blow the first time i start it up.

nikki's say nikki on them and have that glass window. the Hitachi on my buddies rx-4 has a wierd accel pump on the top corner of the carb, it is 4 barrel.
