the unthinkable may have happened :(
on my way to work today, i got this *braap braap braap braap brapbrapbrapbrap braap braap braap* which sounds a little like lost compression or no combustion. eventually it fixed itself and i made it to work, but i'm worried. it still runs shy of well.
gonna put new plugs in and do some MMO tonight... i that doesn't work, i may have to go shopping for a new ride w/ all this money i don't have...

just got a call from hayes. they said they couldn't diagnose any problems that would reproduce what i had hapen, they also did a compression test and it came out quite nicely (never below 7, pretty even all around).
i guess i'll have to go through and replace my plugs, wires, and cap/rotor.
i still think i may retire it as a daily driver and have it run autoX duty.

It sounds like your floats are getting stuck & you are running really rich.. I had this happen and it sounds like you have a bridge ported engine.. Check out your carb..

take the top of the carb off, and theres theses little black things that float. kind of like a mini toilet when helps regulate how much gas is held in side of the carb if it gets stuck it can screw things up. is that lame mans terms

Well, if you look down the throut of the carb & see gas dripping this is definatly the problem..
Are you running the stock carb? if so check the float level throught the sight window.. It is on the side of the carb.. You should be able to see the level of gas in the float.. The level should be in the middle..
