NEVER, EVER ask me to get any 12at parts from Japan.
over the past 3 weeks, I have offered a running 12at for 400~600.00 to 6 different members here on the 1st gen forum and all I wanted was the money to pay for its shipping (about 150~300 broke down and shipped via USPS) and about the same to pay for the packing (pro boxers, bubble wrapped and peanuted)
I offered this to everybody that I saw who was working on a 12a turbo project, and all i got was mubo jumbo from you all
as cheap as most of the members are on the first gen board, I figured if I offered it for what I thought it would cost ot pack and ship it somebody would want it. Mind you this is the stock 12at from my RHD turbo 7 with stock turbo, efi computer....the whole nine yards for the cost of shipping.
I am swapping in a 13bt (power, parts availability etc.) it was taking up space in my storage unit, and I had no need for it anymore, nor was it worth trying to sell on ebay, as I would have to dissasemble to ship it, so I thought that by offering it for the approximate shipping price, somebody here would get a leg up on starting the 12at project.
well I threw it in the trash yesterday, and it is freaking history
yes it ran , and ran well... it had 112,000 km on it (70,000 miles)

I see why you are angry, but don't you think 3 weeks was a little short before you got rid of it? surely if you would have posted in the F/S section, or something You could have gotten rid of it.
just my $.02

I was not trying to sell it, i was trying to give it away. And there are to many people in the F/S columns who want to BS and drag things out, thats why I chose to PM the members that I saw that was working on 12at projects, as they were more likly to jump on it and get it out of my shed quickly.
MattG quoted "What were you thinking I have a blown 13b in my shop. You dont see me throwing that in the trash because I dont have any plans with it!
PS. Putting a rotary in the trash = STUPID!"
Matt, storage space here is at a premium, 1 parking space 8' x 14' costs 150.00 and up per month, my storage shed takes up 1 parking space and is filled with my tools and 2 spare engines 13bt, and 13brew from cosmo.
I have no room for the 12at, I cannot afford to store it elsewhere=$$$, and I cannot leave it lying next to my shed, as this will get me eveicted from my parking slots.......you do the math, I am sure that you were just typing fast and not thinking before calling me stupid, but please realise that all options are/were considered and the only option was to get it out of my shed, hence the offer to give away for the cost of shipping.
I have other engines that are useable, desireable to me that take priority..
Sorry for the rant, but I am just tired of hearing people complaining about the price of stuff and when you offer them something for free they gaff it off.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I was trying to sell a supra motor that i had extra from an 88 supra turbo. I posted it for sale in a supra forum, got tons of messages and people "interested" but no real follow up. I then even said it was free to someone that could come and take it...still no takers after tons of messages back and forth. I ended up keeping it anyways since I sold a couple motorcycles and freed up some space...but i'm just saying i feel your pain. Not to bash anyone on this board since i'm relatively new here lol, but people love to say YEAH I'LL TAKE IT! then just disappear, or come up with excuses. You clearly didn't have the time to mess around with that crap. So now that i'm on your side...if you come across another one let me know

Well I'm not about to dissapear, and being the mod, it's not like I can run far
I never posted about starting a turbo project, because unless I get a good deal on a 12aT I don't plan to! Turbos are expensive to build, upgrade, maintain and put gas in. But I've always wanted a J-Spec 12aT. Too bad I wasn't more vocal or maybe you'd have PMed me about it
Seriously though, if you end up with another running 12aT I'd bite... as long as I had enough room on my credit card to get it!

actually none of the forsale sections work worth a good ****, I had to EBAY 2 20b's because nobody was interested, then after i EBAYED them I must have gotten 50 freaking billion emails from the 2nd and 3rd gen forum members (only a few from the first gen forum) saying stupid **** like I'd a gave you that much without the wait and blah blah blah.
sorry guys to unload about this but i understand why nobody wants to ship stuff to the states (or canada sorry! ) the few items I put up for sale in australia went like freaking hotcakes, no hitchs no problems but everything I have tried to sell on this forum has been a major PITA and the only guy who bought something without any complications (this is a relative term BTW) was Ramie aka FD Newbie he is one solid no BS type of guy. all the rest have been email/pm/phone call tag for no good reasons.
even buying from this forum has been rough. I bought a custom manifold off of one guy to find out it had the wrong turbo flange then to find out it was not even designed for the body as he had claimed (that was a 250.00 dollar screw job) that my project car is still recovering from.

I'm sure the mods could have made an exception even if you posted it in this section.
