Turbo Newbie

I need to know the procedures for installing 12at Turbo from a late model rx7.

Whats a wastegate?
Where can i get a turbo flange, what thickness should the tubing be for my turbo?
Will 2 1/2" exhaust be enough?
Who can i send my carb to get larger jets installed or how hard is it to do myself?
Whats the product you use to join tubing together at joints..intercooler.
What size of intercooler should is use?
How about this oil line system that i have to install? Where do i tap the block?

Any help will be appretiated, including links. Thanks

i have some links that would answer 90% of your questions.
although, right now im not at the computer that has those links bookmarked
but to tell you the truth i obtained those links by using the search on here.

also, you should search in the single turbo rx7 section of the forum.

What turbo are you using, some have internal wastegates, others external.
Are you making your own turbo manifold?
2-1/2 would be a minumum, size will be dependent on your hp.
Carb will need to be boost prepped, contact Rotaryshack.
Silicone connectors with j-bolt clamps.
Depends on turbo and hp outout, again.
You can tap the rear oil cooler line banjo bolt, better option is the ReSpeed block that mounts under the oil filter for adding an aftermarket oil pressure gauge.

Most of your questions are very basic and indicate a lack of research and knowledge. Start studying/searching and buy Corky Bells book, 'Maximun Boost'.

Alright il do some searching, i was hoping i could find someone that already had done the swap.

Everything helps tho.

The turbo is the 12at turbo that runs 165 hp in the fuel injected 12a motor.
So im guessing that the carbed version would be 140 or a little less, now thats without an intercooler. Im guessing once again, that its going to be about 160 with an intercooler.

Yes i am making my own turbo manifold, if not can i used the stock one?

Im already running msd ignition with 8mm wires and bosh +4s which are fairly hot. Will i have to upgrade my fuel pump?

the mallory 4309 is a fuel pressure regulator, not a pump, so you will also need a high volume/pressure pump.
