turbo manifold

is there any way i can use a FD turbo manifold on a 12A motor. i know that the 2nd gen manifold you have to make the bolt holes oval shaped. can i do that to the 3rd gen manifold?

Basically the consensus on the other thread was it is possible, but it would be a ton of work and the fd twins are a piece of crap and very complicated.

Well actually he's not beind specific, I didnt read he wanted twin turbo manifold, he just said FD would could be a used after market I supose. From what i've leared is that the FD exaust print it very similar to the FC, so which would mean you would have to try the same process to get that manifold on a 12A. The only advice I can give you is map it all out, and take your time. If you have that FD manifold already, get it out and start dry fitting it. That is the only way that I see you'll know for sure.

you might have to put it on upsidedown for clearanceing issues, but the best bet is to try it

and the stock twins may suck, but they probly work and are cheap

It might fit after slotting the holes. The biggest problem is side engine clearance.

and have the exhaust sides of the turbos facing the front of the car as well as having to defy gravity to drain the turbo

Yeah, I have to admit, I can search for a topic that I REMEMBER posting in, and not find it for some reason...

The search function on here is weird sometimes.... I don't mind answering a question that's been asked before....

If everything is already answered, lets just shut down the forum and just keep the search function open?

I am not necessarily agreeing with Gregs response, but he is right.

Lately, every other thread is about a turbo 12a or engine swapm or carb hiccup. Even right now, I could go back less than a week, and see a similar thread like this one.

Maybe I am jaded, but lately the treads all seem exactly the same.

Also, you can search and find what you need.
I do, ALL THE TIME. If not, then I am VERY specific as to what I want to know, such as:

"Will an HKS cast manifold fit in my 1st gen with room to spare?"

Yes, even that question has been answered before.

The thing is, many people are not even bothering to search before posting a simple thread. It's a forum, not a chat room.
