True Value
I remember a while back someone was getting screwed by their insurance co, who was saying their car was worth like $2,000 or so.
I JUST had mine professionally appraised (as I type this he hasn't driven away yet)
Pamela is officially valued at $19,500.00
EDIT: I should also add she was listed in "very fine" condition, only one step below the highest rating of "excellent".
I couldn't believe it but he added $100 for my "one of a kind machined dash insert" - my li'l stereo bracket.

Top book price on a 1st Gen is £3500 here ... I've never seen one sell for that price though and I picked up a clean one for £1200
P.S in the UK agreed valuations with insurance companies mean Jack **** ... they pay out the minimum every time and it sucks !

What ???? ok , thats more then the car cost new.
What did the apraisel run you,,or is it from your insurance co. ( part of the policy , apraise contents of policy ) Insured value, and real time value ( kelley blue book ) are different. If your car were to get totaled,,,
you would get 19,500 $$ minus your deductable..So whats the car on, ??? home policy ?? business policy ??
fleet policy ?? also are you a veteren ?? ask you agent
about discounts/perks .

I'm a veteran but in Canada that and a buck will get you a can of coke.
My deductable is $50 (annual plates and insurance with $2 million liability and full coverage excluding glass totals about $800). Here in Saskatchewan there's one insurance company, owned by the Crown (that means gov't owned ), for home, auto, etc.
The appraisal cost $100

Other than SGI, are there any "secondary" insurers you can approach? If so perhaps they will quote coverage on an "agreed value basis for the own damage only"
How many photos did the appraiser take? Make sure you have your own photos of every nook and cranny on that car .... date encoded. PHOTOS were the only thing that saved me when my car ...... mysteriously dissappeared.
You DON"T have the glass covered???! How come? Does your SE still have the original bronze glass?
If so ...... SIT DOWN .... It is no longer avaliable. I checked all accross Canada and the US. No luck.

Pictures are a VERY good idea..and when doing so,
buy the newspaper for that day, and include the paper
in the photos. Headlines, date, this action WILL hold up
as proof of time in any court.. get it ?? If you take a
picture of your car for insurance porpuses, say the front/
hood shot,,,lay the paper on the hood,,,front page..up
wheels,,lay the paper on the ground,,,front page,,up
ETC,,,,,The papers are considered admissable public records, and are kept forever.Just another way to cover
your *** in a reckless world..

See, here SGI (Saskatchewan General Insurance) is a gov't owned monopoly. There ARE no other insurers within these borders.
Actually the appraiser didn't take any photos, he just wrote a report. SGI already has a ton of photos as they took some both when I had the front collission damage inspected and again when that 16 year old rearended my car last month.
