Nice car! That looks exactly like mine did a few years back...sigh.
Seriously though my 12A ran about 116 mph and that was it.
Very noisy and a little squirrely at that speed.

end of 4th gear for me is 114MPH - 115MPH.
Didn't really have the ***** to go much faster. I don't have an air-dam yet and the car was quite loose feeling, and I bet it was about to take off into orbit. Mazda says 123MPH top, I'll believe them.

i've had my old gslse up to 135-138(speedo stopped), but it wasn't stock. the fi was scrapped for a dellorto 48 sidedraft. i probably could've hit 140. if i remember right, the previous owner had ported it( or at least ported the exhaust) , but sold it to me with a 1.5 inch exhaust: headers to cat to glass pack to muff. what a dork! he butchered a perfectly good RB streetport system cuz he was afraid of selling a car without a cat. funny thing is, nobody checks emissions in that state. i don't know if any of this helps, seeing as it wasn't stock, but hey, i'm bored and feel like typing. and yes, the car is squirrley going that fast. i won't do it again without an airdam.

Took it up to about 225 kph or 140 mph. I'm not sure what the top speed is since I ran out of road but it was still accelerating. With lowered springs and Konis the car felt suprisingly stable.

i estimate 130 mph.5th gear at about 6700 rpm racing a bmw 850 il.i'm sure he could've beat me but not before his lane ended so i'll say smoked that one.12a street ported,tokico struts & shocks,lowered 2",custom 2 1/2" exhaust,holley 650,R/B intake & header,holley fuel pump & regulator set at 7 psi(i think).185/60/13 tires and a 3.96 rear end(i was told).

madaz7, the fuel pump I'm using is the Carter 7 psi unit. It's a good pump. Easy to install and flows more than enough for any 12a. BTW, who modded your carby and what sort of power are you making?

I have had mine over 140 while I was living in Germany. Gotta love the Autobahn! Might of had a little more, but was running a large whale tail style wing at the time and it was like an airbrake.

he is well know around the sunshine coast for his work with 4 cylinders and rotary's he also built my engine, i dont know what kind of power my engines making, i havnt had it on the dyno yet

I just recently became a member of this site, and I have a some questions maybe some of you guys could answer. I own a 85' se, and I was wondering what I could do to improve the performance of my car. Its not completely stock, but I need some more suggestions as to what I could do to receive more Hp or just some general tips. Here is what I have done so far:

- I Removed all emission control systems and al catalytic converters. All that’s left is a straight pipe to the muffler. ( no header/ performance muffler due to unavailable funds.)
- I added a Racing Beat duel alternator pulley. And new pulley belts.
- I removed all sound guards/ installations and Tar from the floor.
- I removed all air conditioning components
- I added a oil over air cooler
- I put in 4 new TOKICO shocks straight from Japan.( Non adjustable but still work great)
- I have NGK spark plugs from a 3rd gen being used.( Witch work Great!!)
- I removed the black funnel and made a custom 2nd opening to the carburetor
- I have a custom stabilizer and torque bar mounted.
- K&N air filter.
- I removed the Air pump ( 1st thing to go)
- I added a performance pressure plate.
- I also lowered the car a bit to cut some air resistance.
- I added a light weight aftermarket wing to the rear for better down force( much nicer feeling when taking the on ramps :P )
- I am currently using Mobil 1 Full synthetic oil ( 10w30 for this time of year)

this all I can think of at the moment. If any one has any more suggestions I would love to hear them. Some considerations im still considering very much so are:
- electric fans
-MSD ignition boxes
- RB Header/Dyno muffler.
- electric water pump.?
- reposition of the battery for better handling.
Please msg a post or email me at panoz_06@hotmail.com

Thanks!

Jon
