How to time is shown in the FSM. Make sure you can see and differentiate between the red and yellow marks on the pulley. If you can't, you may need to clean up the notches, I use a triangular file to clean them out, then a fine model brush and model paint to remark them. Timing is straight forward, just like timing a piston engine, except the leading and trailing are timed and adjusted separately.
Since you have the dizzy turned all the way to one side of the slot, either you're timing it wrong or perhaps the pulley is not clocked correctly. If that's the case, there is a pictorial writeup in the archives, thanks to Wacky, that shows how to find TDC. If the pulley is clocked wrong, you need to remove the 4 bolts holding the pulley on. Do not touch the big bolt in the center, it doesn't hold any of the pulleys on and if it's loosened you can cause a great deal of grief if the torrington bearings slip and drop down. The pulley will most likely be frozen in place due to rust, a few whacks with a hammer will loosen it enough to slide it off. Once you have it off, clean it up, repaint it and remark the timing marks.
It will probably be best if you set the engine to TDC before removing the timing pulley. If the marks do not line up with the timing pin, it will need to be removed and rotated until it does. You have 4 choices to align the mark, only 1 is right. If you get close to the mark being lined up, but it's off about 5*, it may be such that the dizzy wasn't lined up correctly when installed. It will need to be removed and reinserted so the pin and notch lines ups. All of this is explained in the FSM.
If you have trouble lining it up, set the engine to TDC and post a pic of how far the pin and notch are off, then we can go from there.

thanks trochoid.
i will have to take a look at the timing setup and take loads of pictures.
i have an aftermarket pulley setup right now so i need to mark it again. it seems like it was marked already but im not sure which is the right markings for tdc.
if banzai-racing could chime in on the timing setup that would be great.

Look in the fsm, I never can remember which mark is which or which color is for leading/trailing. Always set the leading first. Iirc, the marks are 5*/5mm apart. The stock timing pulley has a 360mm circumference, so each mm is 1*. That makes changing the timing marks very simple if one wants to time for full advance at 4k rpm instead of timing at idle.

hmm that make sense because each of the marks that were made are about 5mm apart. also the vacuum advance line for the leading plugs i think is capped. could that be why when i rev past 3k it doesnt pick up? or could it just be the carb not getting enough fuel.

update!!! k i tuned it to 11.0 afr's and semi timed it.
seems to not make any power and backfires when i shut the car down.
checked the spark plugs they seemed ok.
wires are brand new.

UPDATE!!!
ok so heres what i found and did today.
adjusted timing to TDC.
adjusted the mixture/idle screws on the carb.
set the floats.
afr is set at 11.0
EGT is around 2000 deg. fahrenheit? (seems too hot)
but it still not making as much power as i expected. also white smoke when accelerating/ revving. i think the belt is slipping (makes a loud sound when the secondaries open). the secondaries seem like they dont quite open up all the way (mechanical secondaries). also studders while accelerating, i think its because i adjusted the idle/mixture screws off.
i have 8mm accel wires (im thinking about upgrading to 8.5mm msd ones) with 2 msd blaster coils, a bosch dizzy cap, and ngk br8? (not sure ill have to check again).

Take the supercharger off the intake manifold(4 bolts on top of the SC) and check to see if oil is going in the super charger. It was happening with my old one nad needed a seal replaced inside the charger. when you take the SC off you will see the oil in the manifold if it is leaking. Here is a video of my supercharger when it was leaking oil into the manifold. feel free to watch all my other videos about my car when it had the SC.

As for the belt sqeeling you need to make sure your belt is super tight so it doesnt slip under load, and also what pully are you running? you can get diffrent sizes from camden if you are running a #10 (just bigger than the snout on the charger) it will always sqeel under load and you should change down to a #7 or 8 ( a bit bigger in diameter than the 10)
How much peak boost do you make?
a supercharged 12a is quite a bit dissapointing but it make good torque

If the belt was slipping it would make a high pitched squealling noise. I suspect what you're hearing is actually the awesome supercharger whine when the secondaries open. Enjoy it.
It sounds like your carb is messed up, or your air filter is too restrictive. Does it fall off at 6k? Mine does. -7 pulley, 5" SC, stupid triangle shaped air cleaner.

haha might be a restrictive filter...it also idles at 2k. dont know how much boost im making the plx device just shows a bar haha.
but as for afr and timing settings what did you guys find suitable for the supercharger?
