tire size for my new wheels..

I wanna make sure i will be good on tires for these wheels. They should be here on monday or tuesday and going to run 205/50/15 in front and 225/50/15 in rear.. You think the rear will fit? I have rolled the rear fenders. If not i will get some custom flares made.. thanks

I have run 225/60-15 on 15x6 (15mm offset) wheels and had to roll the lips. And it still rubbed, even with tall springs.

tire rub

What did the tires rub on? The struts? The fender? Front or rear?
I would like to run 225/50-15's front and rear.
From my measurements it appears that 12mm offset on 7 inch wide wheels would allow this. the front fender lip looks like the most likely clearance problem at full lock and full jounce. Would rolling the lip be enough to make this work?

The most I have seen mounted in the front was a 215 tire. That I believe was on Kosie K1's which are 7" wide with +17mm offset. Not sure about your rims, but keep it safe with a 205. Its quite unfortunate that we can't fit much tire under the 7's. I've been trying to figure out a way for over a year now, and so far all I can figure about fitting is a 215 wide tire on a 7" wide rim with 17mm offset. In the back, about 235 is about as wide as you can go with a +30mm offset.

Peejay, you sure those fit? I have a set of 6" wide rims here with 3.75" backspacing, which is about +18mm offset and I can't even fit a 225 tire under the fender lip. There is actually tread sticking out from the fender. If I compress the springs, then the fender arch will sit on top of the tread. Unless I'm wrong about my wheels here.

Rear fender lips. I have not attempted to run tires that wide in the front.

OTOH, running stock wheels and tires, I frequently rub the fenders in the front, even with "an assload" of negative camber achieved from ovalling the strut towers. Can't get any more without a camber plate. There's marks from rubbing the springs too.

With the 195/50's on aforementioned wheels I don't get rub, mainly because I don't get the suspension to move that far on the street. The rubbing only happens near full compression and with near full lock, but it really wakes you up
