TII swap fuel rail questions
I'm preparing for a TII swap, and although I have been reading a lot in the last year, I do still find some things I need the ask you guys about. Which is perfect, as that's what keeps the forum alive
I've noticed a lot of people start from a GSL-SE. I can see the logic in this, but of course I'm going to start from my car (no GSL-SE's officially sold here anyway, so if you find one here, you ain't gonna mess with it ): a 1982 SA (series 2, still called SA overhere). For full specs you just read my sig.
This does however mean some problems occur in the fuel system. Since a S1/2 tank is not sumped, nor is it possible to take of the steel connections (pipes are welded) an in-tank pump for an FC is not possible.
So I decided to use a anti-surge tank (filled by the low pressure lift pump under the car) and a second pump for the high pressure side.
I've noticed all fittings on the stock fuel rails are push on though, where I would prefer screw on ones (AN or JIC) for a cleaner look.
Did any of you convert these? Or use non-stock fuel rails? (so: which, and where to get?)
Would weld on "adapters" be a sollution? I need to know this before ordering a anti-surge tank, as the connections must be correct.
All ideas are welcome, I really want a clean and safe installation, so if someone has done this before, please post pics or info.
