KS tII ?

i know someone is going to tell me to search well i did. i have not quite grasped the wiring deal. i would like to know if i just need the pass side wiring harness and ecu or what? also would i need the tII ignition harness? and i thought there was some spilcing involved? if you could help that would be great. um sorry if i did not search hard enough but it is kinda a pain in the *** finding exactly what you need to know. i will continue with my research on it thanx again

Yea,the info gets lost really quick under the pile.
Try searching in the archives, there is less clutter there.

The big right side harness is all plug and play between the ECU and engine.Depending on if its a S4 or S5 swap, there are about 10-15 wires you need to run on the left side of the car.The left side will consist of the ECU power/relay wiring, the 4 CAS wires(S4 only),a few wires for the coils and wires for the fuel pump relay. If your going full smog legal, then there are another 4-5 wires to run as well. There is no reason at all to splice into the 1st gen wiring whatsoever.......let me say that again.......do not cut, strip or unwrap your stock wiring! The only wire that needs to be routed to the car itself is the power "ON" wire from the ignition switch, to the FC main ECU relay.Use an FC underhood fuse block for simplicity and ease of feeding power to the aforementioned ECU relay. All your gauges and idiot lights can use the stock 1st gen wires. The TII engine has all its sensors in the same places, just a few little things changed, like plug styles and sender resistance values.

Here is a link to the FSM........
http://www.teamfc3s.org/main/factory...tems_turbo.pdf

Youll want to reffer to page F2-8 for the engine wiring. This page is ALL you need to make it work.Print it,blow it up and tack it to the wall to study. You can even color code the thing according to the wires coming out of the ECU gangplugs. If you cannot figure out the wiring using this page, then there is no hope,as this is absolutely EVERYTHING you need to make a TII engine run.

Even though this page is for an S5,most of the work is the same for all TII's.There is no diagram like this in the S4 book, but Ive done both swaps in my car and 98% of the work is identical. All the plugs/wires that start with a 2 or 3 are the big right side harness. All the ones that start with a 1 are the left side wires that you will have to make from scratch. Many of there wires are totally un-needed for a 1st gen swap, and can be depinned from the yellow ECU plug (like the shift light and cooling fan signal wires, ect, ect)A couple large wire will have to be run from the ECU main relay, over to the big right side harness to power up the injectors and solenoids. These are large black wires that come from the fuse block, travel into the main relay, then provide primary power to all the engine functions by tapping into the big right side harness at one of the un-used underdash plugs.

No problem......its about the 20th time Ive typed it.But like I said, info gets buried very quickly around here.Keep checking those archives for more info and dont be shy about starting a new thread if you have a SPECIFIC question that needs answering.

There really needs to be a sticky about this or something, it comes up often enough, and someday steve is gonna get tired of typing

srry that diagram helps me sum but here is something else to help with a question i still dont quite get

so here is my crapyy drawing

ok so i have the main ecu in red and the passanger side harness goin to the engine in green and blue
so i still need the green and red wiring and the ignition ecu in blue and all the relay crap in yellow ? correct cause i was told i did not need that and untille u better explained it i did not know also does that intell removing the dash of the second gen and removing the under dash or if what i understand i can use the stock first gen dash wirring?

o dash wirring is purple lol this is the best diagram for me

Main ECU?........there is only one ECU,and thats the one under the pass side floor that runs the engine.Dont know what you mean by "ignition ECU".

The right side harness runs from the ECU to the engine.......simple.

The left side harness runs from the ECU to the various left side engine components like coils,CAS,fuel pump relay/resistor,ect.

The FC underhood fuse block and FC main ECU relay will also mount on the left side. The block is wired to the battery, and its EFI leads will go to the ECU relay under the hood. From the relay, the large power wires will lead to the coils on the left and the injectors/solenoids on the right. To get to the righthand stuff, the 2 wires will tie into an unused dashboard plug that is on the big right side FC engine harness.

The fuel pump "circuit opening relay" is basically just a relay box that provides power to the fuel pump control/resistor block under the hood. The relay itself can be mounted next to the ECU.The wiring for the fuel pump system is laid out in the FSM diagram.

I dont know how else to explain all this.......True,FC engine wiring is second nature to me now,but I cant explain it over the internet in a "wire by wire" basis. You just need to study that page, its strictly EFI control stuff in that diagram.I SWEAR.......every single wire and component you need is on that page.Nothing more, nothing less.....unless you are not going smog legal,in which case much of it can be deleted.
