I think this topic could use a bit more attention. There is good documentation on emissions removal etc but not much on what to do with the rest of the harness.

I want to go through my harness and remove all wires that aren't used anymore. My idea is to buy a used engine harness and remove all unneeded wires. Probably de-pin them right at the main connector. Then I can install this stripped harness in place of my original.

There are topics on this you just have to search.

Hopefully someone with experience can comment.

my cousin just got his rx2 built and he came past for a visit and the engine bay in it was tidy. its a EFI n/a Bridgeport and you could pretty much count all the wires around the motor on 1 hand, but im pretty sure its had a wire tuck.
wich got me thinking how I could tidy my engine bay up a bit.

sounds like a good idea using a second harness.
my bays messy especially behind the passenger side light there a few wires just tied up out the way. one day i got to pull the wiring diagram out and go through the wires see what they do and sort them out, its just a mission without a right hand drive wiring manual.
