throttle cable bracket for Weber

Well, I should be getting my sick-*** weber set up next week, and Robert from Rotaryshack mentioned that I would need to fab something up for a throttle bracket.

What did the rest of you guys that have webers rig up? Any pics? I need to get some ideas here.

for the throttle cable, for now, you can use the alternator bracket. if you have the air cleaner already, then you can fabricate a bracket by mounting it on the air cleaner housing itself. Im referring to the plate that is bolt on to the carburator. thats what racing beat did to the dellorto carbs.

if you need pix, sent me a pm and i will try to take pics of the old dellorto air cleaner, the mikuni and my homemade bracket for my ida.

ask rotormotordriver, he is good at fabbing up stuff like that, and check out his pics so you can see how he made his..
you have a weird throttle cable so your bracket will be unique

I used a throttle cable return spring bracket from the V-8 dress up area at my local Schucks. It was like $3. I also used one to hold the return spring as well . It worked out nice because as you can see in the picture, I originally enlarged the top hole on the bracket to fit the cable in, but with the cable that high, it wouldnt pull the thottle all the way open. So, I moved the cable lower, but luckily I was able to later use the top hole for my cruise control because the cruise control doesnt need to be able to open the thottle all the way .

Thumbs up

just minor adjustment:
Try to line up the cable bracket with the carb's shaft lever. I cant tell if youre using the stock carb's shaftt lever or an aftermarket. if its the stock, then down the line, you may have problem with the shaft due to binding. but for universal lever, you can tweak it.. Otherwise, VERY CREATIVE. I give you a "9".

I have a spare throttle cable if you wanna pay for shipping.

Also, as far as a creative genius, I dont know if I would go that far, but apparently I have some good ideas from time to time .

My current engine in the RX-3 (it was in my GSL). Home made but adjustable to keep the bracket in line with the shaft lever.

OK I'm failing to see the connection between the throttle cable and the alternator bracket? Could you explain it to me?

Oh yeah, I allmost forgot, I had to grind down one of the bolt holes on the dust cover for the flywheel. When you retrofit a S5 intake on a S4 block, this area needs to be ground down, because the S5 intake hugs the block alot closer than the S4 one does. However I think I might be able to use RMD's idea only bolt it up to a bell housing to enigne bolt.

And RMD, why dont we just meet up somewhere? your not too far from me. Thanks man!
