For those with RB power pulse mufflers:
Could you please do me a fvor andmeasure the distance between the tips on the rear?
i'd like the measurement from center to center of the pipes. Also could you please measure the diameter of the pipes.
I'm planning on chopping the tips off and putting on some 3" tips. Need to make sure this will work before i go welding stuff on there tho!!
Thanks

Hey ioTus,
I'm curious what turbo you are running and how much boost you are getting?
Do you currently have the stock GSL-SE muffler? Are you planning to upgrade to the powerpulse? I'm considering the same upgrade but I'm unsure if the powerpulse will be able to flow enough for 8 psi boost.
Reason I'm asking is cause I'm getting only 5 PSI with a stock turbo and and I know the GSL-SE muffler is holding me back. I recently installed a Corksport downpipe and RP hi-flo cat and the boost didn't go up at all--so the muffler must be largest restriction at this point.
Once I get this intercooler worked out I'll put on a new muffler and increase the boost.
TIA,
Scott
p.s. Sorry I didn't answer your question, but at least I'm asking about the powerpulse.

Right now here is my exhaust setup:
RB 2.5" downpipe
RB 2.5" pre-silencer
2.5" to 3" expander
3" cat-back (silencer back) into:
3" generic glasspack
3" E-Bay N1 muffler
My boost is going way too high, somewhere like 13-14 psi last i knew, but i'm having problems w/ my clutch. by the end of today i'll give you some real numbers.
i have a stock block s4 engine, w/ the stock s4 turbo (ported wastegate). Weber 48 DCOE carbeurator blowthrough, no intercooler, no BOV.
This exhaust setup is WAY too loud. I have an EXTREMELY high-end competition stereo, and i have to max the volume for me to be able to hear it over the exhaust.
Im ditching everything 3", so my exhaust will be like this (by sometime next week):
RB 2.5" downpipe and silencer
2.5" mandrel-bent silencer back
2.5" version of the Power Pulse (make SURE you get this one, the other will be too restrictive)
Cut off the tips w/ the restrictive inserts and weld on tips of your choosing.
I'm choosing the 2.5" inlet, 3" or 3.5" outlet, rounded tip, angle cut from APC. These tips look stylish, and i lvoe the larger diameter dual tips.
I just hope that it will fit.

why is that boost level too high? Is it because you don't have the fuel for it? I have a ser 4 engine/turbo ported wastegate but haven't tried it out yet. I was hoping my boost would be 14 or under. I will be using a Microtech so I can provide the proper fuel. I think 14 is about where the turbo starts loosing efficancy correct?

I don't know if this will work on your set up ioTus, but my neighbor has a supercharged 302, he was running at 13 PSI, added 2 innercoolers from a T-Bird SC and droped boost pressure down to ~7 PSI, and that is more then enough...
Like I said I don't know if that sort of thing will work for you but I hope it gives you something to think about.
As for the the exhaust noise he still sets my car alarm off when he drives by...

Powerpulse is restrictive for my NA, I can drop .4 sec of my 1/8 mile time just by not running with the RB muffler!
Something to think about espescially when running a turbo.
Restriction = Bad Free Flow = Good ! ! !

Yes, adding an intercooler will drop my psi to a very reasonable level. But that requires money to get it ducted and stuff..
As far as restriction goes. What good is a fast car that you cant drive when its too loud? I'd prefer it to be 5 hp less and regularly quiet than as loud as it is now...

here's my other post, after the exhaust has been installed.

I'm NEVER going back from racing beat. There is NO OTHER option in rotary mufflers, in my opinion.
