Thinking of series 1 rx7

Hey guys. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about buying cars from a Junkyard. I have found a decent 79-85 Rx7 complete (except a window) with very little body damage and some rust i Went the junkyard and made an offer. the guy said that he wasn't able to sell it to me... it was a real suprise considering all the other cars (lots of hondas there) were trashed and this rx7 looked nearly untouched. Its probably somehing with the titling.. I own an 88 'vert rx7 and I've also liked the first gen, but never owned one. It did look like it needed lots of maintenance work (fluids, etc.) but it was a complete car. think I should try another offer? also, what are some differences between the FC and the 1st gen? someone told me its much easier to burn rubber and drift w/the old rx7s compared to say, and 88 vert.
