Most cars do. Keep topping it off and you'll find the leak eventually... Could just be air bubbles in the system.

My car smokes heavily on startup, mainly because of the stupid weather. I just love those freezing temperatures. I'm sure Washington is starting to get down there. I know it doesn't get nearly as cold as IL...oi, that's one thing I miss about Washington, but...anyway...you start it up in the morning?...or at night? ...I'm sure it's fairly cold around then..cold enough to make it smoke.

My car smokes when it warms up and then after a few minutes there is no smoke at all...even while driving.

I've had pressure in my cooling system when the car had sat for almost two weeks. I took off the rad cap just for the hell of it and it sprayed a little coolant out. Well I put the cap back on and thought nothing of it. A few days later I came out and it was pressurized again, but the car had never been started or even touched. How the hell could the system become pressurized just sitting there for a few days?

Not enough coolant, too much water, and freezing temps? Could the water be "freezing" and causing pressure?
