Testing Pickups

Remove the Trail and Leading Ignitors and Unplug your Igniters and Take an Ohmmeter and stick the Probes in the 2 openings of the (White) Connector-anotherwords where the Plugin was for the Ignitors on the Distributor. The 2 wires are connected to the Pickups.
You will see what I'm talking about once you remove the Cap and Rotor.
According to the FSM your reading should be
650 +-50 ohms @ 20 Celsius (68) Farnheight.

AirGap between Rotor and Pickup should be
0.5 ~ 0.9mm (0.020 ~ 0.035in)

My first thought was to check for an output voltage. Same hookup method but set the meter on the millivolt setting and then give the dizzy a spin while checking the reading on the meter. Of course even if there is an output voltage it does not mean the unit is within spec so you still need to check the resistance and air gap. I do wonder if there is a minimum output voltage to use as a gauge.
