pretty sure FB struts are shorter than anything toyota has, even cut AE86 struts are like 3-4 inches longer than the stock Rx7.

there is a reason cutting the strut is like their first mod, and we never do it.

I dont know mr pfeifer.

The point in rear coils to me: simplicity and looks combined with function.

They already make a set for the rear:
Rear Coilover Conversion For FB RX7

Still emailing back and forth - awesome people at the company. I'm offering to send parts out for them to start R&D work on them (front FB shocks and FB shifter to be specific).

Let me know if they need anything you dont have, I have a lot of pieces laying loose. I feel a lil responsible since I brought it up lol.

I wouldnt mind just some adjustable coil spring spacers.

Yep, I'd definitely be down for parts. Count me in.

Front coils like the ones they offer for the rear (the all in one setup) would be SWEET.

Panhard would also be awesome... Gah! I'm pretty excited, I hope this all works out!

This has some info I could use at my work. I am trying to get them to make a set of shocks for our cars, and if they can also be used for the AE86, that will help more on making it happen. I have already started a thread trying to gauge interest on it and we already have a set of stock shocks to measure in at work, but I need some people to actually e-mail or call in to let them know its not just me that wants it to happen.

Not trying to thread jack because all we do are shocks, but check my other thread out here. Everything we make is built per customer to your specs.

So are these real full-coilovers (springs over shock, adjustable sleeve an integral part of the shock...not bolt on like a Ground Control setup)? And are they truly bolt-on like the site says? I'm just wondering how that works given how the spring perches on the FB are separate from the shocks.

It combines the spring and shock a-la coilover...

It has been proven multiple times lately that the rear shock towers are capable of coilover stress by several racecars.

From the looks of the picture it is still a standard shock with a coilover sleeve clamped down over it, so it is still like a Ground Control setup.

If you are going with a coilover on the rear, you would just remove the OE spring and bolt the coilover shock in the stock shock location. The upper spring perch takes care of holding the top of the spring in place and then the shaft bolts through the body like the factory shock does.

Again, I'm working with the company I work for, JRI Shocks, on developing shocks and struts for our FB. I know we have all of the parts already on the shelf to do rear shocks, coilover or not and our coilovers are not sleeves, they are part of the shock body. And we should be able to do just about any length shock you needed if you want a lower ride. The front struts will take a little more time to develop but I think we have most of it already on the shelf.

And again, not trying to thread jack or talk people out of their product, I'm just trying to get us some more options as well.
