See my thread today about keeping a spare ignitor in your 7 at all times,lol.
You can either take the time to make the test light or do the following... Put a timing light on the trailing side and see if it is firing. Take a trailing wire off and ground the plug and see if it is firing while you get shocked,lol. Or swap ignitors from the leading to the trailing, start it and read the tach and also notice how it runs like crap with just the trailing side,lol.
Throw all the above out if you have a 84-85 because without the trailing ignitor there is no fuel pump either

is it cold where you are? my tach dosent work when it cold...interiors gotta get warm first then itll start workin slowly..and then get better and better as it gets warmer
