swaybar won't stay centered

I gots the ReSpd front sway bar, coilovers, camber plates, roll center spacers, etc...I've only put a few thousand miles on the setup since installing last year, but EVERY time I ever get under and look, the swaybar has shifted and is hitting framerail on driver's side, and big gap on pass. side. I always loosen the two 14mm bolts that tighten the swaybar clamps, bang it back towards the driver's side witha 2x4 from the pass. side until the gap on each side is the same, then retighten the bolts. Next time I look, it's always shifted back. Anyone else have this problem?

Go to McMaster-Carr and buy a pair of 2-piece collars with the correct ID. You can buy fancier ones from Whiteline, but any collar will do the job.

You put one of these McMaster-Carr on either side of the swaybar, right next to each bushing. They will keep it from sliding laterally. You have a choice of sizes and materials.

^+1 we use these at work all the time and I work in industrial food processing. If a travel auger can ise one of these as a stop with over 500 lbs of meat pushing on it I think it will be fine for a swaybar..

Thanks guys, I'll get me some 2pc collars...I was waiting for the suggestion to only make right handed turns.

most of the modern mazdas, FC and up, have collars built into the swaybars, just to fix this problem.

Check the length of the TC rod from the frame mount to the control arm on each side. If they're different, then there's your problem.

The tension rods? Do you mean to count/compare remaining threads? When I put all this suspension stuff on last year(including poly tension rod bushings) it was completely unclear how tight to make the nuts on the tension rods...Or how to even achieve proper torque. Doesn't the relative length of these rods also affect some value of alignment? Caster perhaps? Thanks again.

You could to that, but I meant take a tape measure to it from the rear bushing to the control arm. If your control arms aren't rotating in parallel to each other the swaybar will get pushed around.

It might not be off enough to make a big difference in caster - depends how **** your alignment guy is. That said, are you sure your upper strut mounts are rotated in the same position on each side? I messed that up the first time I had the suspension apart.

Odd, my Respeed bar doesn't do this. I wonder if you have an alignment issue, bent control arm, or something else going on (TC rods as suggested above)...

Good luck...

Well, brand new control arms...had to use tension rods from a parts car, cause I ruined the ones that were on the car removing them. Because of this AND because of the new poly tension rod bushings, I couldn't just put the tension rods back in in the exact same way they came out...Still don't know exactly how to set/tighten/torque the enormous nuts on the tension rods...
