Support bar?

Hey I was pulling apart my car and noticed this bar on the front end bent. Anyone ever replaced it before? I was just wondering is all I need to do is break those few welds and slide it out? Also what is it suporting will I need to prop anything to prevent problems while its out?

that's the bumper reinforcement bar... and from the looks of it somebody whacked it pretty good... removal is about as simple as you put it..and no there's no need for bracing... but from the looks of it i would check for frame damage... hard to believe that that kinda damage wouldn't pull the corners of the frame in with it... i would try to pull it oput a bit with a porter power and thenn break the welds etc...

Not sure why you're calling the bumper reinforcement bar, it connects the front frame horns together, not the bumper. I've seen this type of damage from the car being jerked out of a ditch with a chain. It will take a bit of hydraulic power to push the frame horns out and straighten the tube.

Frame machine would be the easiest, but not the cheapest.
