Superlight Wheels... really aren't that light

These look like Panasports and people seem to like them, but, at 18 lbs each for a 15 x 7, they seem kinda heavy. The Panasport street wheel in this size is about 15 lbs. Other aftermarket wheels are about 14 lbs in the 15x7 size.

This seems somewhat heavy.... thoughts?

panas were actually a rip off of the mini light wheels, and i assume that the superlights are a division of them, so i dont know why they would be so heavy.

I know my 13x7's are nowhere near 18 lbs.

I'm scared to bring them to the tire shop and put em on the tire mounting machine, much less put them on the car and drive it around.

The UPS box I got mine in is labeled as weighing 70 lbs. I know they usually round up to the next nearest weight. That's including the rims and all packing material and the box itself.

Funny thing is, most of you will assume that the box contained 4 rims... 70 / 4 is 17.5 Not that far off.

But I didn't get four rims. I got two spares. 70 / 6 is 11 and 2/3rds... Minus a double walled box the size of the bottom half of a fridge and the peanuts to fill it and all the rims, densely packed... I'd say these are 10 lbs or less.

When I first picked the box up off my doorstep, I thought I either got screwed or there was another box on the way.

Now, I'm just scurred.

The 13" size is much lighter than a 15" wheel. A 13x6 Pana weighs 10 lbs, while the 15x6 is 15 lbs (source: WheelSpecs.com). So I'd expect at least 2 lbs per wheel difference in Superlites as well.

If you're after light wheels with same look as Panas' try some performance Superlites. They come in 13"-16" with any PCD available.
