I've installed 4, and from poor design, poor output, and poor reliability, it's hard to like something like that. I'll also mention that just about everybody I've met short of Codeblue (And Tech_Greek, but his is up for sale now too) who has bought this kit has sold it or threw it away within 6 months. When you think about it, it's a LOT of money just to be unique, especially when lately you can pay someone to rebuild your engine and have damn near the same power output as if you bought the kit, and still have an extra $2k to spend. It's nice that someone tried to produce a kit for us and tried to do some R&D (though I'm thinking they skimmed on that a hair), but in my experience it just isn't worth it.

Yea, me too. Why is it that turbo owners have such a problem with blower owners?? You see turbo owners screwing with blower owners all the time...but I've never seen a blower owner hating a turbo owner. We know they are different...we know there are different preferences...why not just admit that they both have their advantages?? I prefer to judge for myself! And how about the people that have experienced both, like Code Blue 2? She RAVES about the supercharged '79, but hardly acknowledges the turbo'd GSL-SE.

The biggest reason I went with the blower is because I'm not a fabricator, and I wanted a kick in the ***. It looked to me like the easiest way to get that was with a blower, and now I really believe that. You just bolt it on...it's easy...no fabbing!

Sorry to jack this thread...but it's already been jacked. The original poster wanted info about blowers...instead he got a bunch of crap about how turbos are better....sorry, I don't usually get into arguments on here...this one just set me off...

I've owned and built more blower RX7's than most people have seen RX7's.

Well, ok...but so what??

I've owned my RX-7 longer than most people on here have been alive. Does that make me an expert, or give me the ability to criticize someone else's preferences?? I don't think so.

You had mentioned turbo owners hating on blowers, and also asked for 'what about people who owned both', as I have. All I did was replied to your question. What preference do you refer to? Unique and a flat curve are about the only two things out of a roots blower on a rotary, the curve can be matched with a rebuilt engine ported by a reputable builder, so really, the only thing from a roots kit is the uniqueness in my experience. Centrifugal gives you an OK power boost, but suffers from similarities to a turbo (so you might as well just throw a turbo on, it's cheaper and easier, unless you find a paxton kit). Then there's twin-screw, great efficiency, 'instant' boost, great torque and power, but god awful expensive and requires heavy fabrication. Really, the twin-screw is the only one I could consider as to having an advantage of any sort on a rotary other than being unique, but it's cost is so extreme hardly anybody would install one.

You're forgetting that even if you prefer blondes, there's a whole shitload of them you wouldn't touch. Consider the same for a supercharger, unless it's a twin-screw stay far away for a rotary.
