Yeah I got the idea from a few V8 guys that were running BDS & 6-71 blowers. They had sandwhich style aftercoolers from a company called SuperChillers, so I had a company in Austrailia called MR Enforcer build it for me. Oh I forgot you asked what stand alone I was running, a Haltech. The only problem I had with this set up was fitting it under the hood. I ended up having to cut a hole in the hood for a breather. Here you can see the aftercooler it's the aluminum box below the charger with the hose in the front.

I always wanted to have this look on my car...love that blower look peeking out the hood. do you have any pic under the hood of this car.
I have decided to go TII swap as i had the camden on a 12a streetport, it was fun but the bottom line is power is limited.

You know I haven't had it on the dyno since the Fuel injection change over & the new pulley set up. It was around 296 hp 10 years ago when it was carbed. With the new fuel/ignition, pulley set up ( boost ) & aftercooler I would like to see somewhere around 350-370 off the spray, but thats just a goal. Here is a few pics since you asked.

Thanks for the compliments & yeah I hate wiring. Dcashdollar there was only two kits that I knew of one was the Paxton/Nelson centrifugal supercharger no longer availible & the Camden Roots type supercharger which I think you can still get. I tried thier site & it was completely changed so I don't know. I have seen many one off custom made set ups using 6-71 GM blowers. Good luck, you might find a used kit on line.

i don't have really good tabs on if Atkins is making blowers right now or not I know the whole economy thing has hit them really hard. no one has extra money to play with when you can't pay the rent.
As for 12a engine parts mazda doesn't have any rotor housings left at this time and said they were not interested in making anymore either, hence why most things are going 13b.
As for the supercharger setups Jeff20b and I hashed this out in multiple different threads through the last 3 or so years. Bottom line on an engine for a supercharger... avoid any kind of intake/exhaust overlap, failure to do so will actually give you inflated boost numbers and alot less power. The best first thing to do to the engine is exhaust porting (go figure it is the best even without a sc).
I like what has been said so far but there were somethings left out. The supercharger advantages, it has the ability to dramtically increase fuel mileage while giving you more power, it will give you more torque increase at lower RPM, it is a much easier setup overall. The disadvantages #1 cost and only one manufacturer, #2 you can get much more HP from a turbo, #3 not nearly as much R&D has been done for them, and lastly #4 every time I see one of these threads there is always someone jumping in to say don't do it your crazy just turbo it like everyone else. Part of the reason I love my rotaries is not everyone has one.
These are not the only advantages and disadvantages but some of them.
Personally I have NA, SC and turbo cars and I love all of them but if you had to have me pick one it would def be supercharged
Side note Rotordad where did you get this blower it looks like a really old setup, all of mine have the single serpentine belt. The aftercooler idea is really good I have a similar setup on an engine now after seeing Atkins with one on their car. One piece of advice I can give anyone wanting to do FI setup, ensure that you have some of the injectors before the sc it helps to lubricate and cool the lobe seals

RotaryDude my blower is really old the whole kit was bought from Rotary performance in Texas a long time ago. I haven't actually seen another one with the 4 bolt pulley design & on the front of my manifold there is a pop off valve that I haven't seen on other Camden kits. I too own a NA, Turbo & a Supercharged RX7, I love them all for different reasons. On my fuel injection set up I run four injectors in the throttle body pre-supercharger & two in the motor. Nothing bad towards Camden/Atkins but they didn't know much about this set up, but they did find me a pulley back on a shelf covered in dust. From what I understand they bought the rights to this kit & moved on to a slightly different design. A single bolt pulley system & & the manifold are the only things I noticed have changed.

I found a great example of what was found in the orig set ups, (ROTORDAD look at your setup to see if this is problem for you) the 7inch blower setup had spliter in the manifold that seperated the front and rear rotor intake charges and the carb mount on top of the blower was set-up for standard mounting with the primarys in the front and the secondaries in the rear, they had been selling this setup for years. The front rotor got lots of fuel while the rear only got good fuel delivery when the secondaries were open.

the biggest problem i have had is belt slippage at hardest launch. I would think that nitrous would make this problem worse for me. the only way around it would be to increase the duration of the shot to make the hit not so hard......
i have very limited nitrous exp so any thoughts?

No my manifold does not have splitter there but it does have a pop off valve on the front which is not on all the manifolds. Camden used to make blowers for the Toyota 22R when I bought my kit & a few other small piston motors. Rotarydude do you have a progressive nitrous controller?

Still in Iraq so I haven't updated or tried anything new. I have a new engine and fresh blower waiting on me i Texas and nearly unlimited chassis dyno time in Kansas we will see how much weekend free time I get to play with while I am at Ft Riley Kansas. the new engine and blower are going into the Re-Speed Widebody so they have a chassis that can fully use the engine
