Looks like you got yourself a supercoupe, thats a fairly quick car. BUT, it's a ford so it's a pos. And lord look at the engine bay, packed with so much ****! I would just steal the alternator and put it on my car. A whopping 120Amps of sexx.

eh... I always buy ford when I stray from mazda, since ford uses 50% of their **** I feel more comfortable working on them.
The SC has a mazda trans. 5 speed
Goes like hell too, has the switch for the suspension like the 2nd gen rx7's, stiff & automatic.
Its fully loaded with some bad *** seats, rear wheel drive with independant suspension, etc....
I plan sell it but before I do that im gonna throw on a 10% overdrive pulley on the sc, cut out the 3 cats, and possibly throw on an apexi AFC
those three things are supposed to give up 75 extra hp
not sure yet what to do, its fun though

Yeah the bolt breaking on my harmonic balancer shows that.

I just googled to find one of those. A sweet looking car, I know that the blown V6 is a good motor it is fitted to some Aussie GM Holden saloons you can buy here.
Why was the previous owner happy with only $300 clams?
Sweet - those extra 75 ponies sure sound like they'd be even more fun.
If you were like me and don't know the car - Thunderbird Super Coupe

I am already a member of the super coupe forum, thats where I found out about the harmonic balancer bolt because at first I was clueless as to why it wouldnt start after spending a couple days on it and not getting anywhere through process of elemination.
Alot of those people on those forums are total *** nines.
They keep insisting on getting some aftermarket harmonic balancer for $400, then changing out a bunch of other stuff in the process just cause it "might go in the future".
Totaling up to around $1,200 in non-horsepower adding crap.
I explained I only spent $300 on the car as was just trying to get it going again to sell it and make a profit.
They think these cars are rare or something, or that their worth restoring
Going price for a real nice 89 SC on ebay is around $2k
So why would I dump over $2k into the car on top of the $300 I paid and the $500 the previous owner dumped in just to end up with a car I could just go buy for $2k
Dumb *** people.
I told them the harmonic balancer is like J-109 ignitors, yeah they go bad, and yeah you are taking a big gamble by replacing with a used one, but $15 vs. $500 is well worth the gamble.
Someone needs to explain to them that a car worth dumping a fortune into is something that is a little more rare, probably worth more then original sticker price if mint, and a handfull other things the SC doesnt fit into.
To each his own I guess
