What about Thunderbird superchargers?

Could you do a junkyard swap with one of those?

so what all is needed to add a supercharger as compared to a turbo? i take it you will need....

intake manifold
rrfpr
pullies
belt/s
boost prepped carb
and ofcourse, the s/c itself

seems like a hell of alot less parts than a turbo. but wait! do you need to do all that oil feed and return junk?
you could still use the rb headers and normal exhaust right?

Talking

Yes you still need oil feed and oil return and if you are bolting this up to a 12-A you will need an 86-88 water pump and housing.

Yes for the exhaust it's RB all the way. yea babby yea!

Well just happens to be that I also have a camden supercharger on my 79. I also like the blowers because they are different, and are a blast.

Im completly pleased with it. Yeah they sure do whistle, not to mention the power that they do have at the start. Hit the gas and theres no hesitation....its all just right now.

I do have to say that I like both superchargers and Turbos, though its all in preference...

Well, dont rotarys crack apex seals when stressed under 2K rpms? And then the apex seals start to chatter around 6200rpms?

Wouldnt a supercharger kill it faster than a turbo?....

Just curious...

Thanks, Laters, Andrew

Not true if you DO NOT have the motor tuned for turbo or S\C than it will not work right, But if it is tuned right than the motor will last a lot longer.

IT'S ALL in the tuning of the motor...

well, if my car is idling, i dont like the idea of forcing air into it..... too bad you can make it have a switch,on and off, haha.... it would be on more than off though, if I ever got anything with boost...

well, if the boost is always on like a supercharger, always wear on the motor.... turbo only has wear after it spools.... but it has alot more pieces and alot more of a headache to make your own kit since there isnt anyone still produced that bolts in.....

turbos are cheaper, they create more power, are more fun ( you get that sudden jolt after waiting for the boost) and are easier to raise and lower boost to your driving conditions, like race or chill.

thats not always true turbos are cheaper but all it takes is a pully to change the power & in the race u got the power right there y have to worry about pressing a button to make it more powerful
