Is this possible?
No, it is not possible to have one 10 in the middle... Unless you feel like cutting out the latch that holds your hatch in place. There will be NO carpet. I am building a custom grille that will go the width of the car, and will form in with the wheel well covers. Again, this is totally 100% stealth. You won't notice them at all.

Not sure of the bolt method. Seems you will loose too much signal because of the size and type of metal. I would go with the .99 speaker terminal that is brass. partsexpress.com

This is the part that I look forward to seeing. Since I have two Resonant Engineering 8's, Your box will not quite work for me. But I am getting a TON of ideas. Thanks!!

Dan, I'm able to build the same box style for 8 inch subs. If you're interested, I can hook you up.

I think he means not work as in not be ther air space or something along those lines. Some subs require a certain amount of air space to sound the best.

My other problem is I have No money anymore for the next few months. Otherwise, I would jump on one of these QUICK. I am going to build it on my own just to get the experience with fiberglass. I would buy one of yours, but my money stream has gone to a trickle as of late. I am trying to save up for November when my wife is due.

well i am sure of the bolt method......you dont lose anything from it..and what do you mean loose signal from the size ? a 12mm bolt is really not that big its about the same size as 8 gauge wire at most....there are speakers that you can hook 4 gauge wire up to...but if you really think that speaker terminals are better...then you need to go take a calss on custom fab of sound systems....so you can learn a thing or 2

just my 2 cents

Wow! When I looked at this before I went to work at 6:45 I thought about using the same idea, and probably still will. My bro is a Union Electric man, So I will have no problem getting them.

But yes, brass would be a better conductor.

I was wondering when you build the box, can you make it to where if we want to put a grill over the speakers we can see it. When you mean you won't be able to see it do you mean because the carpet flap will be covering it? I was just wondering because they have some pretty nice looking grills that would look sweet on my subs.

I am eliminating the stupid carpet flap. I am making a cover out of speaker cloth so that all the sound can come out, but you can't see the subs. If you want me to make it so you can see the subs for your, I guess I can, but I'm not responsible when your **** gets stolen.

Patrick, I hope your not calling me out on this one. The bolt method as you put it may work well in the competition circuit, but in the real worl unless you cap them it's an accident waiting to happen. Push that box back touch some metal, turn on the tunes and your amp is gone. Pat, just to keep you updated. I've been MECP certified since 1996 and have put many a system in. Just check my car domain page, for the 3 different ones I've done just on my 7. Your 2 cents are only worth a penny!

When can we expect to see some pics? Also, will the subs be inlayed or will they stick out like 1/2 inch like normal?

Will the box work around the holder for the jack on the passanger side? Or will it have to be removed?

Has to be removed. However, you can stick it in the space between the subs, I think.

I don't know, I threw mine away.

well john im not trying to call you out nor am i trying to fight online...im not saying you dont know what you are talking about or that you dont have skill....but you said that it would caz loss of singal caz of the size..and that is not true..you said nothing about it being a safty issue.....im glad you have and can build systems alot of ppl can and do. but most the time they do not sound 100% or 30%(not saying this is you) and if you are using the 99 cent terminals..that it is just 1 more thing that can caz an air leak or to mess with the singal...the best thing to do would be to use a gold plated type of bolt with rubber end caps..but for a normal system the ss bolts work fine

you dont have to use this method if you dont but lets just try to work together to better the rotary world

cheers PaTricK
