Stupid Request: Need measurements of the following. . .

I didn't drive my 7 to work today, otherwise I'd go out and measure myself. I'm going pick up some stuff to reupholster the rest of my interior today, and need the dimensions of the headliner, sunroof piece, and the door panels.

So if you're bored at home, work, school, or where ever you might be, and you want to help me out, and rack up an extra post on your post count, I'd appreciate the help.

Are you doing the head liners and non-carpet stuff yourself? Man, I gotta get those skills. Is this gonna be your first time or what? Did you need to repaint/touchup the inside of your car after you removed the original interior? If I can get my engine bay looking clean and the car running like it should, I think most of my effort will be towards improving the interior as far as customizations and restoration. Thing is, this is where the least amount of resources are. Have you already done your carpets, if so, custom job or from somewhere? I've seen them online for $100-$400 and I can't tell the difference in the pictures...

Rough measurements with a bit to spare for trimming and edge wrap: Headliner 48 side to side, X 43, front to back. door panel 22 high X 46 long, (this measurent covers entir pan, sunroof trimmer20, front to back X 32 side to side.

2 things to keep in mind, all fabrics have a knap, meaning the fibers lean in one direction. This must be kept consistant through out the interior. Generally, the knap will be smooth, top to bottom and front to back. Mismatched orientaion can sometimes show up as a color change. Add a pattern to the fabric, that needs to be addressed also. If the pattern repeat is large, add that distance to the measurements I gave.

Thanks trochoid, I got myself enough material and even some more in case I screw up. Don't want to be going back to the fabric shop every time I make a mistake. As for the material, I got some black vinyl that has a pattern almost exactly like my OEM door panel vinyl does. I took a sample down to the supply store to match it. Headliner, B-Pillar parts, and the piece in the middle of 84-85 door panels will be in this black suede stuff I picked up. I got all new foam to go behind all this new material I got too. Will be documenting it and adding it to my thread about the conversion.

After seeing your main thread, I see that you have actually removed the wires. Are you reusing the old ones or please tell me you have a better solution than 25yo wires. I'd love to redo the entire wiring internally in an attempt to repair my youth stereo installs. Gawd, some of those were real bad. I just don't have any idea of where to get new wires other than cutting and replacing which isn't where I really want to go.

I only took out the wires to paint the inside of the car. My wires are good, flexible not brittle. Only wiring I'm going to be replacing is the headlight wiring, but I'm doing this to accommodate H4 bulbs for the H4 housings I bought and still haven't put in. I have lots of stuff, just no time to install it all. I've got poly bushings laying around, all my upholstery stuff, the new headlights, subs/amp, and ReSpeed coil overs on the way. I best get crackin' on my installations.

Does that ColorBond fill in the small imperfections in the plastics or simply color it? In my rear deck, the small plastics that go around the wall of the entire deck are in OK condition but besides the color of them being slightly worn, some have knicks and what not. Did you address similar issues? I might just buy new ones...

Any deep scratches will still be visible, but if they're faded who cares, the colorbond takes care of that. It goes on just like spray paint, but seems to be a lot thinner.
