Stuck on rotors

I'm trying to take off my right-rear brake rotor, but those two screws are completely frozen in place, I've sprayed PB on them about 10 times and I still can't get them to budge, anyone have any ideas on how to get them out?

this happens all the time!! 2 thiongs to do. first use an impact screwdriver(kind you hit with a hammer). I always find that the bits break a majority of the time before the screw is loosened but it's always worth a try. or find your self a good center punch and punch the screw near the edge( not so close that you mash the rotor and screw together) and then angle the center punch to the left and hammer away!!! almost like using a air chisel on huge bolts(same action)

The screws aren't reverse threaded are they? Otherwise now they are a really tight reverse thread

No they are not reverse threaded.
Use the hand impact like they said.
Check Harbor Freight Tools online.

Apply some heat along with your penetrant ( PB or LiquidWrench) and tap on the heads a bit. Do this a few times and then try unscrewing them. The impact screwdriver isn't a bad way to go either. I don't know why they didn't just use 10mm hex heads like everywhere else on the car.

Alright, I will try to get my hands on an impact driver, hupefully I can find one. What size of bit should I use, I just want to make sure I don't strip the screw out then have it really stuck on there.

But tapping the heads of the screws will help break them loose? Should I like stick a screw driver into them and tap the back of the screw driver a little?

I really need to get this thing off, my parents are leaving town for a week and taking their car, so i'm not going to have anything to drive if I don't hurry.

The Screws are not really required so if you break them off it is no big deal. Just drill them out after they break or grind them flat.

Right-O. I'd like to keep them intact, surely they serve some purpose.

Beyond keeping the rotor on the hub when you take the wheel off, they serve no purpose whatsoever. Once the wheel is torqued onto the hub, that holds the rotor in place.

I'm not sure what chemicals are in PB Blaster, but "Liquid Wrench" has an acid that dissolves rust, so that might be an improvement. Only problem with that hammered impact driver is figuring out how to set it to extract rather than drive in.

Also if you do what they said above with the Center Punch, you will be able to remove them. My Dad was A Brake and Front end Tech for 5 years and he taught me this trick.

It is hard to understand across the web but you bacacilly use the punch to drive the side of the Bolt in a Counter-clockwise direction, if you have some one to use the screw Driver on it at the same time, it can help.

Okay, well we ended up drilling out the screws, but the rotor STILL will not come off. Is there anything else holding it in place besides those two screws? This thing will not budge at all.

Other than the screws, there is nothing fastening the rotor on the hub.
You have one of 2 things here, either you didn't drill enough of the screw head off, or the rotors are rusted to the hub. Use a hammer to hit the rotor towards the center, not on the pad surface. This should help to loosen them.
You do have the caliper and all mounting brackets removed, correct?

yeah, the calipter is sitting on the ground next to it, do I need to remove the brackets themselves, or just the caliper?

Does the mounting bracket have anything that is in front of the rotor? Been far too long since I saw one without the wheels, so I cannot remember.
If there is anything in front of the rotor, it must be removed before the rotor can come off. Otherwise, it's likely just rusted on. I run into that when I was replaceing my rear brake shoes (drum brakes). A little patience, and a few mild whacks with a hammer loosened them right up. If all else fails, apply a little heat to the rotor's mounting surface, and repeat the hammer.

This is more than a little patience, i've been outside trying to get it off for about 2 1/2 hours, and i've used half a bottle of PB, and about 100 "mild" hammer whacks, this thing just won't budge at all.

edit: the screws are completely drilled out as well.

I'm way PAST* manford kind of, if I can't get it off tonight I will PM you tommorow or something. It has to be just rusted in place or something, there is nothing left to hold it on at all. And to think, this all just started out with changing my brake pads until I saw grease everywhere

edit: im about to take some pictures, I will let you gays take a gander and see if you can see anything.

Get a torch and heat that rotor up until you here some load pings. Just run the torch around between the studs in the middle of the rotor until it heats up real good, when it does you'll here a ping or two. Then smack it with a hammer and it should be free.

Heating the rotor will causes it to break the rust thats binding it on. The heated rotor expands while the hhub stays relatively cool and this usually breaks em loose. I've had to do this on a number of vehicles that were older. Good luck.

I'm actually 4 miles outside of SS, by "discovery land". If I don't have this thing off by tommorow i will PM you for sure. But here are the pictures.
